We are from out of town and went in to get a bunch of drinks for our family for the morning. We looked at the menu posted outside before walking in and decided 2 of the drinks we wanted were from their "hot/iced tea bar"--the green tea. We order this and the other drinks and the nasty woman at the register questioned us so we said it again. She said "you mean the one in case?" We said we didnt know it was our first time there. She said its the bottles in the case. We pay. We look in 3 different cases and dont see any iced green tea. We ask 2 employees behind the counter and they seemed afraid to help and asked her first. She kept getting annoyed at us that we couldn't find it. She finally stepped out from behind the register and checked and saw there was one bottle of Gold Peak iced tea in it and handed it to us and said "here it is we only have 1 left" (we already paid for what we originally thought were 2 fresh brewed iced green teas). My sister started to say "this isn't..." and she interrupted and said "well this is all we have right now you can grab Gatorades" and walked away. Obviously we will not be giving this place our business every again while visiting Dewey Beach.

Read moreThe person "in charge", presumably the owner, likes to push her political agenda on her political agenda with her customers. We went there 2 days in a row (not a ton of options for a quick bagel in Dewey) and our order was wrong or missing something BOTH times. I only complained to her on the second visit because we ordered 2 sandwiches and only got 1. She started in about being short staffed and then alluded to some other business (completely unrelated to her business or my problem) not being opened at all and would not own the fact that her employees were screwing up. Her teenage employee, who mistakenly told my wife both sandwiches were there owned his mistake and promptly got me the missing item. Take a hint from your employees and own your problems...its not their fault - its yours.
To end on a positive note, their food and coffee offerings are really good. Just don't engage the owner, she'll feed you BS and try and buy you off with a free doughnut.
Pro Tip: good employees are only as good as their leadership. Your business, your problems...not mine.
TLDR: Good food, bad...
Read moreBaked by the Dewey Post is an absolute gem in the heart of Dewey Beach! This charming little coffee bar serves up top-notch coffee—hot or iced—and has a great selection of smoothies and cold drinks too. Their pastries are fantastic, and the breakfast sandwiches, parfaits, and fruit cups make it a perfect stop for a quick and delicious morning bite.
They have some outdoor seating on the deck so whether you are just grabbing something to go or taking a seat to people watch and have a coffee, it’s a great spot.
What really sets this place apart though are the thoughtful extras: beautiful flower arrangements and unique, handcrafted greeting cards made by local artists. This is not the Baked Coffee Bar from years past. It’s under new ownership and has been completely revamped.
The owners are locals who also run The Dewey Post restaurant at the south end of town, so if you're looking to sit down for a full breakfast or brunch, definitely check that out too. Whether you're grabbing coffee to go or lingering with a smoothie and a scone, Baked by the Dewey Post is a must-visit in...
