Let me start this off by saying I would love to support small businesses any chance I get- but some business just aren’t worth supporting. Quite literally any surf shop between bethany and rehobeth beach is better than this one. I went in to buy a tshirt and two stickers. Was offered a bag, said yes please, and went about my day. Keep in mind the bag is blue. About 2 blocks down the road (10 min tops) I notice i’m suddenly COVERED in blue dye- on myself, my clothing, and may I add a BRAND NEW $40 tshirt bought yesterday from Quiet Storm in Rehoboth (pictures attached below). I calmy way my way back to the store. The cashier was so helpful, very apologetic, and offered to call her manager. The manager stated their “refund policy” which says no refunds are accepted and they only give store credit. I explained my newly bought shirt from them INSIDE the bag was safe from the blue dye so i did not need that shirt returned. However I did want a refund due to compensation of blue dye ALL OVER myself and brand new clothing. The manager refused and offered to call the owner. We waited in the store for about 15-20 minutes for the manager to relay the same message from the owner. They offered no refund, no compensation, only offered to give another one of their shirts. Not sure about you, but after a business just ruins a BRAND new shirt due to cheap bags- i’m simply not interested in supporting them by wearing another shirt with their name on it. The refusal to give me a refund due to their greediness & lack of accountability is quite literally mind-blowing. I’ve never seen a small business ESPECIALLY in Dewey Beach be so money hungry they forget to have a single ounce of consideration. This screams cheap, and we don’t have money to do half of what’s right. The quality of merch displays this perfectly. I would avoid this place at all costs, the only good thing about this place was the kindness of the cashier though dealing with HORRENDOUS management. I would highly recommend checking out surf shops in Bethany Beach or Quiet Storm in Rehobeth. All will be a million times better than this place & you won’t leave being a canvas to a cheap bag. I can't say enough good things about Dewey Beach Surf Shop! The staff is absolutely amazing, and the owner truly goes above and beyond to create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. A special shoutout to Lauren—her dedication and positivity really stand out. The entire team is incredibly helpful and always eager to assist with anything you need.

Gary and Tyler are the dynamic duo!!! Surfing is always something I wanted to try but never really had an opportunity. As a 43 year old mom of two active, young boys, there was no time like the present. They were patient, supportive, encouraging, and never gave up on me. They made sure we had the absolute best experience in the water. Additionally, you can tell how loved they are in the surfing community. So many families and young teens stopped to say hello, as they clearly have been an integral part in their lives and learning to surf-they have taught many!

Tyler also took his time and showed my boys how to wax their very first skim boards in his store.
