Starboard Raw — Restaurant in Dewey Beach

This was a great spot for getting in my raw cravings! We ordered a mini feast, sampling numerous things. They had four different kinds of oysters when we were there and I got one of each to try them out. My favorite was the wellfleet oyster. I also got a half dozen topneck clams (raw), lobster mac & cheese, saffron rice, Brussell sprouts, peel & eat shrimp, a Cousteau oyster shooter and a tequila crush. I was super impressed by everything. The lobster mac & cheese had a super creamy sauce with a smooth and slightly sweet flavor. The crab and lobster were quality bits and they give you a solid amount of it. The Brussell sprouts were crispy and delicious, topped with bacon and parmesean cheese (I asked for no buffalo sauce and blue cheese). The tequila crush I ordered usually comes with grapefruit juice, but they switched it out for orange juice at my request. The orange juice is not from a carton. I frequent Starboard Raw because it's just across the street from my house, and it’s always a great experience! The selection of oysters is impressive, and they offer a variety of other seafood dishes that never disappoint. They also have a fantastic menu of non-seafood items, which adds a great variety to their offerings. The craft beer selection is also top-notch!

The staff is incredibly friendly and always works quickly to make sure you’re served promptly. Even though the restaurant is on the smaller side, with bar seating on one side and tables on the other, they manage to get everyone seated in a reasonable amount of time. During the summer months, they have additional seating out on the deck, which is a perfect spot to enjoy a meal.

We visit here every time we come to the beach. To me, this is one of the best bars because of its range from a great happy hour place, a great place for Sunday fun day of course, the great place to listen to music, and finally to grab a meal.

This year was a little bit different of course because of covid-19. We got take out once and I had the steak and cheese sandwich and it was excellent. Then my family and I visited the actual restaurant after it opened back up on June 2nd. This time I had the patty and melt burger and it was pretty good.
