Yesterday we went to this establishment. The waiter had no clue what was going on. We had to repeat our very simple order more than 3 times. My son's food came out wrong, even after repeating his VERY simple meal more than 3 times. My daughter ordered the boneless chicken wing cheese fries and they came out with fried gator, instead of chicken. We asked the waiter and he also said they were gator. He took the food to the back, the manger then came out with the same plate of food, and said this is chicken not gator. She said the waiter was wrong. I lived in Louisiana for many years, I know the difference between gator and chicken. The meat was gator. My daughter didn't want to make a scene so she kept the food. Although after the manager left she said this is gator. I was shocked that they would bring the same plate of food back out even after we asked to just take the meat off, because she grossed out by the gator (she's a teenager). After paying I told the waitor, thank you. He proceeded to roll his eyes at me and my daughter..Terrible service. Won't ever go back to this restaurant again.#latergator--- response to manager-- you never asked to replace the plate, or what there was you could do to fix the issue. You just stood there and wanted us to take the plate of food back that we had already sent back. I have worked in the industry my entire youth and young adult life, and would have never sent the same plate back to the table after the Customer had sent it back. That's unacceptable. The only reason I apologized was because I have a good heart. It wasn't because you made the situation right, because you didn't. Hince why I posted a review. Because what happened at the restaraunt is why we will...
Read moreWent to pick up my order today got a kids meal and the special of the day. Not only was it cold almost frozen it seamed, but horrible tasting. My child complained about how cold the frys were cause he always eats his frys first. He was right they were so cold it would have taken 5 minutes in a microwave to cook them. Won't mention how most of them looked like they had mold growing on them... I get how potatoes have spots sometimes but the majority of the frys being that way plus cold. So I told him to just eat the chicken strips he spit them out. So I tried one.. me being a person of integrity I swallowed but threw them up without my son seeing me. I tried my beef tips.. let me tell u the amount of salt they used could kill a human. The amount of onions in the meal, you can tell they were using as a filler for the horrible tasting food. Here's one for you if you want to go on a 1970's trip there is enough mushrooms you may get what you were asking for. Couldn't find much beef tips to even make a statement on those. The staff was moving as if they were carrying around 100 pounds of weight sooo slow! If this place stays open another year it will seal the deal that there is no place in Dickenson TX off of I45 that is worth dinning at. This food wasn't worthy of prison or dog food. Probably should have bought some pedigree soft food and would have had a better experience. Also the dog food would have tasted so much better I'm sure at least it would have smelled better and I would have known it was...
Read moreI recently hired Gator's Bar and Grill to cater a small private party held on Tiki Island. Gator's owner, Marjorie Morgan was awesome to work with. Marjorie and her team are experts when it comes to catering. I asked for a more upscale menu palate. I know, most think of Gator's as a casual dining experience, but Marjorie and Chef Lena delivered exactly what I was thinking. From the initial contact, to the location walk through, the meal prep, table set up, and then the meal served, they made it stress free.
I asked for a girly salad - a strawberry, walnut spinach with a delicious balsamic vinegar dressing. The main course was grilled 6 oz beef tenderloin filets - grilled on site with yummy garlic parmesan potatoes with a creamy peppercorn sauce and sauté asparagus. Dessert was a cheesecake mousse. It was all fantastic.
Dinner was planned to be served outside with a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the lovely coastal sea fog rolled in just as Dinner was to be served. Marjorie and her staff quickly switched gears and flawlessly moved main course inside. Our guests were very impressed with how they perfectly executed all of our requests.
If you are thinking of catering an event, Marjorie and Chef Lena are who you should call. Don't let her restuarant name fool you into thinking they only do bar food. They were a class act that would rival any high end restuarant. Thanks again, Marjorie, Chef Lena, Corey, and Keith. You all made our small...
