The establishment was modern & clean and staff was pretty good. However, i cannot see myself returning due to the high prices, innacurate prices reflected on menu, and small portions.
The jumbo wings were listed as 9.99. But when the bill came out, they were 14.99. Thats a 50% markup from what was listed on the menu. I have seen restaurants have innacurate prices on their websites, but never on a physical menu that they provide to you at the location itself. Btw, if you read some other reviews on this place, you will see that i am not the only one saying this about the wing prices.
Calling the wings "jumbo" is a little bit of a stretch in my opinion. I eat A LOT of wings from differents places and i have had them much bigger. I ordered wing bites to go for my wife and the portion was very small (about the size of 6 chicken nuggets). Normally when i get her wing bites, she can only eat half, but not this time. No chance we were going to have leftovers.
I noticed many other things on the menu that are 13, 14, 15 dollars, but those same things are 8, 9, 10 at other places i usually go to. Thats why i ordered wings, which were supposed to be 10 bucks. Without getting into specifics, beer prices are very high too (about 1-3 dollars higher depending on the beer) compared to similar establishments.
I know i might get a response to this review with statements like "our expenses have gone up", etc. However, this applies to every single bar, not just happy valley!
They dont have to pay millions in advertising like restaurant chains or pay extremely high rent like restaurants in a heavy commercial district. This is just a local neighborhood bar in a lower income...
Read moreNo chance I ever walk in here again. The place is clean, very nice design to represent Penn State Nittany Lions, but the food and service was so bad, it's not even funny. Came here with my family and friends to have a night out, we waited over 20 minutes just to get drinks. Gave a pass, being it was busy. We ordered food, my kids didn't get what they ordered, instead shared a meal since food took so long. I ordered Hot Garlic boneless wings, the sauce tasted like spicy vinegar, not to mention how cold the food was of how long it sat waiting to get to the table. The gal bringing food to the table gave our table of nachos to the family next to us, even though they were there and ordered WELL after us. We brought up some of the miscues and it was attributed to "We usually arent this busy here, so we are short staffed." By the time our food and apps made it to the table, it was AN HOUR AND HALF waiting. We got to the place just before 7pm, and we didnt get pur apps and meals until about 830pm. Despicable, honestly. My kids got their mozzarella logs WAY BEFORE any adult got food, so naturally they were done eating and bored by the time we were done eating. Never again will I come here to eat, especially during football season, when a sports bar cant keep up with...
Read moreYou Need To Know? Penn State themed sports bar! Arrived around 5:45 on a Friday night & we were able to belly up to the bar. Three bartenders smoothly worked together & had this place running like a well oiled machine. Service was prompt, pleasant, & helpful. Wait times for drinks & food were minimal. On this occasion we had the volcano tater tots and nachos grande. THe Heisman Pizza (a bourbon sauce pizza with crispy chicken, crumbled bacon & a special cheese blend) and sweet thai chili bites. We also had a chicken bacon ranch salad 🥗 (mixed greens, marinated grilled chicken, crumbled bacon, tomato, cucumber, cheese, baked garlic encrusted croutons served with a homemade bacon ranch dressing). For the most part the food was your ordinary bar food, however, the salad was a top notch meal! From its presentation to its size & the amazing homemade dressing. The dressing is what really sold it. Don't need to be a PSU fan to enjoy this establishment but it certainly helps! When in Dickson City go check out this place instead of a chain restaurant, you won't be disappointed! Now...
