I recently dined at Dodge House Restaurant, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the charming, old-west vibe of the place made it feel like a step back in time, yet the service and food were anything but outdated. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal.
The food at Dodge House is outstanding. I started with the fried chicken, and it was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside—truly one of the best I’ve ever had. For the main course, I ordered the prime rib, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The sides, like the mashed potatoes and creamed corn, were equally delicious and served in generous portions.
One thing that really stood out was their homemade pies. I couldn’t resist trying the apple pie, and it was divine—sweet, perfectly spiced, and served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was the perfect way to end a fantastic meal.
The service was impeccable. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The timing of the meal was perfect, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, Dodge House Restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is definitely a place you won’t want to miss. I can’t...

Read moreWhile visiting Dodge City Kansas on vacation we decided to go to the Buffet at the Dodge House. We arrive at 5:00 and had to wait about 10 minutes for them to finish setup. They had smothered pork chops in this white thin gravy and they were terrible. Next the fried chicken was so dry I couldn’t eat it. I really believe it was left over from the day before and refried. Absolutely awful! I ate most of my green beans and the mash potatoes were instant. They were supposed to have beef and noodles, but it had no noodles and looked like a pan of brown gravy. So I tried a salad and there were no tomatoes, so I had lettuce, beets and a hard boiled egg that had been boiled so long that it was very dry and had a dark ring around it. The server was nice. And then to top it off there was this obnoxious patron sitting behind me talking so loud everyone in the place could hear him. He was obviously a local. He never shut up! We did not stay long and we...
