DO NOT STAY HERE.
We stayed on 6/8/24 and booked two rooms. It was an eventful stay to say the least.
To begin, we took our kids to the pool, as soon as we walked the. The were 3 men sitting at the table drinking beer. Not a huge problem, but the entire pool room smelled like marajuna, and I am pretty confident they weren't even guest at the hotel. They exited out the back door, and kept walking until they left the parking lot. It felt a little strange with the kids being there.
Next, it was time to go to bed. There was a storm that came through, and by midnight the fire alarm was going off. We got out of bed and our room was flooded past the bed I was sleeping. It got some of our things wet, so I was trying to move some items while the alarm was still sounding. We went to the lobby with several other guest, and told the clerk our room had flooded. There was no offer to mop it, there was no offer to change rooms, but the woman said, she would get us some towels. Still no offer to clean it or even come look at it. She never gave us towels, so we asked again and proceeded to clean our own room of the flood. I thought it was somehow from the storm... WRONG.
We finally got back to sleep after the midnight fire alarm and cleaning our own room. 4:45ish, guess what... FIRE ALARM. My 6 year old is crying because she is scared. I got up and low and behold. My room was flooded again, and it didn't rain anymore that night. We went to the front as the alarm continued to sound. The woman at the front said, "I don't know how to turn it off" She said, she called her manager and she said she wasn't going to come in and assist her. At this point I have had little sleep, a crying child, and really no help from the hotel.
Around 6am guess what... FIRE ALARM. We packed up and left for our 9 hour drive with no sleep. We got to the desk and asked for at least one of the rooms to be comped. She said, sorry, can't help. Call the service number, but never gave us the number. We had to ask for the number. Guess what happen as we were checking out... FIRE ALARM.
THIS HOTEL IS A JOKE. Over $200 dollars for a terrible stay. We never called the number as none of their employees including whoever the manager is that wouldn't come in that night appeared to care about the...
Read moreMaking the reservations I saw that the lobby was under renovation. Friends we were traveling with told me it was under renovation back in January. Upon arriving we found that the pool was also under renovation, and friends said that they could see no progress from January. Rooms were big. We had two queen beds, friends had a king. Plenty of extra room in both rooms. Bathroom was nice. Loved the shelf under the sink and countertop to sit our toiletries on, and no clutter on countertop. Plenty of towels and wash clothes, and they were so soft. Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap bar and all replenished each day. The first night we had neighbors beside us and above us that were up most of the night jumping around, so we didn’t get much sleep. Could be because of the vinyl floor planks on the floor, which looked very nice, but maybe not a noise barrier. Sunday afternoon we had a rain / hail storm, and the rain was pouring in through our window. Thankfully there was a house cleaner on the floor that came in with towels and helped us clean it up. But this needs to be fixed or there will be mold growing in the walls. Also in the stairwell, the exit door had water running in during the storm, and water all over the floor. Again, there could be mold growing and somebody could slip and fall. As said earlier, lobby was under renovation, including breakfast room. We found a crowbar above one window ledge (above a table) that was about to fall down. We took it off the ledge and gave to the front desk woman / receptionist. To get ice we had to walk into a small hallway to an alcove, with a filthy floor from construction (Sheetrock dust, dirt, etc) to get to the ice machine. As for the front desk workers, they were friendly and helpful. Really feel sorry for them dealing with this renovation for so long. The complimentary breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, etc. also, as we entered the lobby, every time we had to pass an employee smoking right outside the door. Not appropriate for a business! Overall an okay stay but not sure I would return if I came back...
Read moreOverpriced for the location, and the needed renovations. This La Quinta somehow averted the corporate-mandated renovations that all others have been required to go through in the last 2 years, or so. It does not feel like a La Quinta. The overpricing, can in part, be attributed to having couches in the rooms, therefore making all of the rooms 'suites.' That said, the front desk agent was friendly and helpful, when I checked in. The room itself was clean, but towels were well-worn and greyish looking. I am not sure what was going on with the toilet. There were black and grey streaks running down the inside of bowl. Seeing this made me decide to definitely not consume any tap water while there. The HVAC unit in the room was the older turn-knob style - so very hard to regulate. The mattress on bed was not a pillow-top, and the pillows were much too hard. Even thought the sheets were clean and smelled fresh, I just don't like the old-timey blankets and bedspreads used for bedding in a hotel room. I want bleached white sheets, covering a bleached white comforter. Walls are very, very thin. I could hear the next door guest's normal-volume conversations. I had a room right next to the elevator. Request a room that is not right next to the elevator. It ka-chugged all night, right against the headboard. I don't ever eat the breakfasts, and I didn't use the pool. The most disappointing aspect of the stay - the price of a room at a La Quinta in...
