This restaurant has a lot of promise. With a little more attention to detail, I think this could become an excellent restaurant. I arrived with my family of four other family members for dinner service. The atmosphere is nice and so is the decor. I'll say the lighting is a on the dark side. Their wine selection is decent though, if you have a complex pallet for wine or are looking for something specific, you may find their selection lacking. We started off with a cup of lobster bisque each. The lobster bisque was delicious, however it was on the runny side to be considered a bisque. I also ordered a caesar salad. It was good but nothing to write home about. It's a salad after all. Where things began to come apart was during the entree portion of the meal. There were four stake orders and all were meant to be made "medium". Two of the stakes came out "medium-well" and "well-done". The last stake, mine came out "rare" in much of the center of the steak. All the stakes were supposed to come out with mushroom sauce which we had to ask for. Once it did come out it was delicious although on the cold side. One of the sides, arborio rice, came out partially mushy and undercooked. It was like biting into grit. On top of that, it was extremely salty. The replacement that came out was a little less so on each count but was still not made correctly. There was a side of mashed yucca that never came. Instead, we were given mashed potatoes. Perhaps the most frustrating event of the night was the fact that we were given butter knives instead of proper steak knives to cut our expensive pieces of meat. You read that right, "butter knives". When asked for proper steak knives, we were given perhaps the most dullest knives available. No joking, the butter knives literally cut better so we all switch back to it. We were the second table for dinner service. There was not a rush at the time. We did notice that there was only one waiter running around but that still doesn't account for what goes on in the kitchen. Again this place can really become something great with some more...
Read moreAwful, overpriced food. Seems they have a whole contingent of “local guides” hyping this place for no good reason. First off, this restaurant is located in a residential development and entertainment complex across from the Embassy Suites. There is a casino on one side and it fronts a golf driving range. Made a reservation for my family of 4 at 7:15pm on 12/28. Our waiter, Sergio, was attentive and personable but even he couldn’t save the experience. We were handed menus that were torn apart - literally had hard backed pages ripped out. No drink or dessert options listed - only wine. We weren’t drinking so not a deal breaker. Soup of the Day was New England Clam Chowder - incredibly salty but edible. Ordered the $36 Filet Mignon medium rare along with a side of mushroom risotto to share with husband. Filet came out seared and dry on the outside and raw on the inside. It was wrapped in a slice of anemic looking bacon on top of a fried tomato. The puréed garnish was dried and crusty on the plate next to a wilted piece of Bok Choi. Filet was served with mushroom Demi glaze that was again over salted. Husband’s rib eye was okay but nothing better than you’d get at Long Horn Steak house for a cheaper price. Kids got pasta again garnished with dried purée on the plates telling me that fixed the plates well ahead of time and left them under heat lamps. I refused to eat the Filet - husband took a bite and said it tasted nasty. Positively awful experience for the outrageous sum of $278.00. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
Read moreI'll give a star for the waitress, and a star for the Alaskan king crab... that's it. So 2 stars total. We decided to try this place out as it's across the street from Embassy. I did not have super high expectations, but if you're going to put "steakhouse" in your name, you should be able to execute at least a little bit on a steak. I can say that my steak was cooked to temperature correctly, so that was good. But the taste was bland, and they exterior texture was soft as if they boiled the steak. This steak didn't have a good grill or sear as I would like, and the flavor of the steak was lacking. This Puerto Rico, an island of flavor! I had to ask for salt and pepper to try to salvage this limp and lackluster slab of beef, but even then it was mediocre. The price of the steaks were similar to what I would expect to pay at a "real" steakhouse, and I believe that is why I'm the most disappointed. I enjoy a great steak, and don't blink at the price. But what you get here, in regards to the steak, is only a fraction of what you pay for.
I will go back though and give my compliments on the Alaskan King Crab my wife ordered. It was very good, and I would say underpriced. So that was a plus. If you like crab legs, I would say give it a shot. But if you like steak, and are considering this establishment for dinner, do not go here you are better off taking a Benjamin and lighting it on fire. At least then you know what you are...
