Aki Japanese Buffet — Restaurant in Doral

Not impressed with variety of food or sushi to choose from. I came for the dragon roll. Their dragon roll has sweet plantains on it instead of avocado. Not what I wanted. The waitress while signing the receipt she stood next to me to see what I was writing. I had a gift card and therefore was going to split between the remaining balance on the gift card and some cash. When she saw me writing $2.02 to complete the gift card balance she said that it was not okay and that I had to tip 15% like it said on the receipt. I explained that the gift card only had $50 in it and I was completing it. She said that gift card was no good for tips and that it needed to be cash. While I discussed it with my husband she jumped into the conversation as if she had been listening the whole time. As I finished my dessert I saw her talking to her colleagues in Chinese and them starring at me as they passed by. I was very disappointed on the quality of the food at this place, is below average, the restaurant is very clean and the buffet presentation is good, the only downside is that the food quality and ingredients is below average, the sushi is bland, lacks protein inside and it's super basic to be the worse I have ever tried. They charge very little for the lunch buffet but to be honest the cheap price is not worth the quality of the ingredients used. The hot stations are questionable, food looks stale and unappealing. The service is average here, not bad just average, the atmosphere is also unappealing and they are in need of a new look. I have been coming here for years because they are close to my work place and works for a quick bite, but lately their food has degraded in quality to the point to make me decide not to come back here and write this review, is understandable that now a days everything cost more, but trying to cut cost in an already low quality menu had been disastrous for this place.
