Monserrate Restaurant — Restaurant in Doral

No thank you. First time here. We stopped by around lunch time on a Monday. The place was busy. The food looked delicious. We thought, this is a good sign. We were sat fairly quickly. Good sign.

We asked for 2 Coronas and a glass of water. We were a party of 3. The Coronas were brought, but no water. I reminded the waiter of the water. He verbalized agreement. 5 mins later, no water. He came by and took our order for food, but no water…5 mins later, I walked up to the bar and asked for a glass of water. He had the nerve to tell me “ patience is a virtue”. He walked the water to the table. Service, not good😠.

The food arrived. Looks delicious…. It was cold .🙁 How can a place THAT busy have cold food?The food should be coming out hot.

We asked for 2 bandeja paisa. The meat was bloody. It occurred to me at that moment, he did not ask how we wanted our meat cooked. 😠

Had a situation where we arrived an hour before closing with my mother(65). They didn't allow us seating so we had to wait in the car for takeout. Not long 15 minutes later they let in a family of 3 for seating. I question as to why we weren't allowed, "apparently they had called 15 minutes prior and "el nino" had just gotten out of school". Well this nino was obviously above 21 drinking a beer. (My age 24) I had never been so disrespected or made to feel lower class. I heard of this Colombian restaurant for quiet a while and my friend said it was good, I went this Sunday to check it out and order the Monserrate tipica which was really similar to a bandeja paisa. It was great the only thing that could improve was the papa salada was not salty at all it was plane and 3 stars because the service was BAD, starting with waiting more than 15 minutes for them to take our order, the food came out quick then another 20 minutes of waiting for the check after our plates were taking away, at this point I said to my friend “I think if we just walk out they don’t even going to notice” so we decided to walk to the front and get our checks.
