I thought Sunday afternoon was one of their busier times, so I ordered on the app so I wouldn't have to wait. When I arrived the place was dead inside. I waited for my pick-up order because it wasn't in the section where you pick up. I noticed after a few minutes they had bags in the back. I got someone's attention and asked about my order. It was in the kitchen area the whole time and the soup wasn't very hot, salad was warm. I guess they packed it 20 mins before when I ordered since they weren't busy. :/
The food was terrible, I hadn't been to a Panera in over a year and it's not like it used to be. The chicken wild rice soup no longer has any chicken in it, the side of bread was dry and mealy (probably from the day before as well). My chicken caesar salad had 3 tiny pieces of chicken on it, and there were many pieces of rotten lettuce in my salad. They don't have the same homemade style croutons they used to have. It's just the cheap kind you can get in the grocery isle.
Needless to say, I'm done with this chain even though it was my favorite place to go to for many years. I would frequent different Paneras 15-20 years ago when I lived in Minnesota. My mom goes back to return something she purchased earlier in the day that she didnât like but didnât have time to return it until later. It was a busy thursday afternoon, a young woman beats a family of four (two kids under the age of five) to a booth that sits four when there are two other booths that sits two nearby. I politely asked her if she minded a family of four sitting where she was at since there were other booths that sits two. She rolled her eyes, gave me a hissy fit and proceeded to tell the manager that i bullied her into giving me her booth. Needless to say she got her food for free and the manager was an idiot giving free food to an inconsiderate cry baby.
