I've been here several times with my family and we always have a great experience; Rob the bartender is a wonderful asset to Tap 42. He's polite and friendly and is great at suggesting food items. Hes a rockstar. Caitlyn, I believe thats her name is wonderful too. She has a wonderful personality. It's very important to have personable people working the bar, In my opinion. It enhances the experience and makes people feel great and extra happy to be there. Hmm, Food wise. The Happy hour apps are all phenomenal. My family loves the crispy rice with salmon, the ribs and the burgers. The food is always fresh and extra consistent. The impossible French dip is perfect for vegans and non meat eaters. It makes an impossible patty taste WOW. I dont eat meat, So im glad that you have an option for Vegans. Anything that you order with salmon is excellent. The fish sandwich is the best for fish lovers. The Mahi is seasoned to perfection. The tres leche is the best dessert in my opinion on my menu. It resembles the one from my favorite restaurant "Hillstone". It's an Americanized tres leche thats served with berries. It's very refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet. You can't go wrong with anything that you order really. The spinach dip is excellent, I just dont think it's necessary to be served with sour cream, as the spinach dip is already rich, I think it pairs perfectly with the salsa. The sour cream never gets touched when we order it. The manager who usually says Hi to us, is very pretty and a nice lady. I think her name is Sabrina. She has red hair. It's so wonderful to see a lady running a restaurant, As a former food & beverage manager I can honestly say that this tap 42 is an incredible asset to Doral. The food is always fresh and consistent. The happy hour is phenomenal. The selection of music that they play is great. The only thing I wanted to say is that upper management should consider ordering a sports channel called MSG. it's good for certain sports games. A few times we wanted to watch a game and you guys didn't have that sports channel which is okay, but maybe it would be great if you can add it to your package for sports lovers!!! Asides from that, This is an excellent place thats recommended for everyone. Best of luck to the Tap 42 Family, May you stay in business for a...
Read moreIt is with a very heavy heart that I am having to rate this, one of my favorite restaurants hands-down, one star. I have been going to tap 42 since they first opened near downtown Fort Lauderdale over 10 years ago. I have never ever EVER experienced such bad service at any of the locations. The last four or five times I have been at this restaurant, (because sadly I keep wanting to give them another chance) has been a service nightmare. Last night I sat down at the bar with two of my Best friends. For the second time, The bartender that was on shift last night at 9 PM, blatantly ignored us and was extremely rude. The bar was relatively empty yet she did not seem have enough time to greet us and bluntly threw the menus down and barely murmured “Hi Ladies” and walked away. About five minutes later she was picking up some dishes next to us so I tried to place our drink order and I was told to give her a moment she had things to do. I sat there and watched her prepare drinks for a couple more people clean up a couple more dirty plates off the bar and even process a couple credit cards. At this .10 minutes have gone by and she still has not come back to even take or drink water. No last time that this same bartender did this, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. But clearly, this restaurant needs to hire much much better bartenders. In fact the only bartender that’s ever given me service was the gentleman with a beard (who is also a server there) that I once encountered. Other than that, the three ladies that have been at the bar have been horrific to deal with. It’s sad that such good good good food can be overshadowed by blatant rudeness and unwillingness to serve. I really hope this restaurant gets it together because according to the other reviews below, this is a trend here. Sadly the manager has been there three out of five times that this has happened And doesn’t even seem to notice. I’m not sure if they all just assume that since were females that we are not going to tip them, or what is going on. But enough is enough so here...
Read moreWorst location ever! It’s been my first time coming to doral as I always go to Kendall. We were a party of 3 and were waiting for the third person to get there. Our server was great at first (didn’t get her name but blonde girl). She was attentive but as soon as the third person got there she just forgot to pass by and even do anything.
She passed by the table once when my friend arrived and I told her please to give me exactly 5 minutes. We waited an hour without her passing by the table. She was passing by all the other tables and taking their order and refused to pass in front of us. We had to ask someone else to take our order. when the other server was taking our order she magically showed up.
we waited around half an hour to get our food (there weren’t that many people in the restaurant) and a table that got there after we ordered our food got their meal before us. After all that no server passed by our table the whole time we were eating. Had to wait a while after we finished our food to call another different server to give us our check and a box. Guess who showed up at the table when someone else was helping us again.
Despite all this, she received tip. We needed one more box because my friend decided to take some fries. Our SERVER attended the table right next to us and as we were trying to get her attention she walked right past us. We had to raise our voice for her to stop and look at us. When we asked for a box she said ok with an attitude, she came with the box and when we said thank you she walked away.
The icing on the cake was the fact that my food gave me food poisoning all night. I never get food poisoning. My whole life I’ve gotten it once and that’s debatable compared to this. I’ve never had an experience like this and especially not food poisoning at the...
