I have never in my life had a worse experience staying at a hotel. I came to check in Thursday night 10 minutes before midnight after a five and a half hour drive from northern Florida only to arrive and find not one single employee downstairs. My mother and I waited about 5 minutes before knocking on the office door to see if maybe someone was there and just hadn’t noticed we were waiting. Another couple minutes pass with nothing and we notice a doorbell beside the desk which we ring and hear nothing, no one comes out. We then see the back office door is cracked open and unlocked. We opened the door fully to knock on every door in the office and no one replies. By this point it is creeping up on thirty minutes seeing no one. I try checking in on the mobile app however, when going to select my room it said one bed, I believed I booked two so I backed out to double check and when I went to try again it said mobile check in was unavailable and wouldn’t let me check into the room. We then found the personal numbers of staff that were posted behind the front desk near 12:20 am and proceeded to call the general manager who to no surprise didn’t answer. I then called Veronica the front desk manager who answered sounding quite confused while her television played in the background. I explained at this point I had been waiting over thirty minutes to check into the hotel and have not once seen a member of staff. She said someone should be there and proceeded to try and contact him. About five more minutes later a member of staff came down to the front desk wearing the name tag Andrew. We were checked in and got to our room by 12:45 am. Friday then rolls in and we leave around 8am we go to an event I had going on. We go to the event go to have dinner and return around 10:30 pm. We find there are multiple employees working and once we get to our room we find we have sugar ants running all over the place. We go downstairs and spoke with Elizabeth and explained all I’ve written above and she quickly moved us to another room and said she would bring it up to the operations manager Victor. We were very appreciative to have Elizabeth working as she was kind, friendly and very helpful. Saturday was another early day and we double checked with Elizabeth before leaving that she did speak to Victor, which she said she did and he is aware of what went on. We went to our event went and had our dinner and once again came back around 10:30pm. For the second night in a row, there was no parking available as the back half of the lot was blocked for construction happening Monday morning according to what I was told. Saturday we were told we could move into that back part of the lot and maintenance would move the cone blocking the drive way back there, but when we arrived Saturday night we were told no, even though we were checking out Sunday and all we can do is park next to the pool by the curb or park in a handicap spot. And the same gentleman who was working Thursday night who checked us in was wearing the name tag Travis now which is apparently his actual name. We made it up to our room for the night only to be woken up at nearly 3:15am to the sound of four women banging around and screaming at one another, clearly intoxicated. We called the front desk to have them send someone up. We were then awoken again at 4:30am to the same thing except this time more banging was happening so we once again called the front desk and they said they’d call the police. In the morning we came down and once again spoke with Elizabeth who said Victor was on his way in but was stuck in traffic and would be another 30 minutes. We unfortunately couldn’t wait to speak directly to him and we gave out phone numbers so he could contact us about refunding one of the three nights due to the absolute nightmare our time here was. In the meantime Elizabeth was authorized to put 15% off the entire stay, but anything further Victor would’ve had to be there. Overall I do not recommend, look at anything else nearby even if it is more per night this hotel is by...
Read moreDear Hampton Inn:
Your place really made me angry. First of all I call Wed morning like many Floridians that' were asked to EVACUATE! Their rate was $97 a night, since I was awaiting to book for other friends of mine I waited two hours before making the actual reservation and by then is was a staggering $220! A night!!! I have a 2 year old daughter and with all the fuss that Irma was going to cut us in half I didn't hesitate and book it'. The first thing was a call I received to let me know that if I had made my reservation on Saturday I was running the risk of having people from Friday not want to leave and loose my reservation, since Friday was their only available day people were taking it since they knew the hotel wouldn't be able to kick them out Saturday, alsO ADDING THAT IF THAT WAS THE CASE we will be removed and taken to a shelter at whatever time we arrived. Naturally I FREAKED out and reserved for Friday $$$220$$+++!!! Ok we are there Friday, as soon as winds start my room, or every room on the right side of the hotel started filling up with water. THOSE CARPETS WERE SOOO DIRTY I had my daughters pants fall ln the damp water and I've washed them 2 times by hand and I can't take that nasty , rotten odor away. By Saturday my room I guess was one of the most affected , this was said by some of the SUPER KIND maintenance workers that helped us bringing towels and with some moral support at leAst since they still had some rooms available because A LOT OF PEOLE CANCELLED when it was announced hurricane moved west. Nonetheless when one the the super nice girls in the front Angela y believe was her name , was about to kindly help us get another available room on the east side of the hotel manager MARCOS MEJIA gave us the reason why we couldn't change rooms and t was because HIS ROOM FLOODED AS WELL!!! He didn't mentioned other clients getting agentes but himself, which was making $ while there, had his family there also safe , hadn't been overcharged to stay, and didn't have a 2 YEAR OLD BREATHING in a NASTY DAMP ROOM. Oh also our AC Started to pop outside the wall. We lost power for hours btw and even tho the reason to made the reservation there was because they assured there was a generator, we came to find later it was only to light up common areas. No air, It was the most frustrating experiences of my life and I feel robbed on top. One of the maintenance guys, AMAZING HUMAN BEING ( I really want to mention his name but I would hate to get him in trouble ) helped us change rooms late Saturday and it was a Great relieve, specially because we were able to take with us another couple we met that had the same issue and a baby also 2 years old. I'm extremely disgusted by what this Hotel did overcharging in such a difficult moment for many, making it impossible for other family and friends to book here . I have stayed at Hilton many time before and you can be sure this will be my last. Also have some shame and return some of my $ at Least , out of shame and respect maybe. I'm without electricity still right now and I prefer to be here than in that hell hole.
I hope you change your ways and make someone else's lives better when they need you too.
See you never , Dania...
Read moreIn town for the week while my brother teaches another class. This is by far, my brother's favorite hotel to stay at in the area. From the cleanliness of the property inside and outside to the professionalism of the front desk and housekeeping.||Kudos to the entire staff and it's hard to single out anyone since everyone that I encountered was pleasant and friendly. I do have to mention Alejandro's professionalism when we had a dead battery on Monday and Alejandro went out of his way to assist. Grant it, the front desk was not busy at that time. Alejandro grabbed a portable battery charger to help in jump starting the battery. When that didn't work, he even flagged down another guest who was on his way out and the guest was more than happy to help. Thank you Alejandro! (There is a small chance that this young man's name is Victor.)||This Hampton Inn is comparatively priced amongst the hotels in the area. The beds were comfortable and the sound proofing from airplanes is pretty good. ||Breakfast starts at 6am, is complimentary and also pretty good. Coffee is hot and delicious! ||Yes, there was a great deal of activity as this property as it is going thru several updates to the rooms, etc. I was (in a way) a little surprised that Hilton is willing to spend some $$ to the hotel. It is an older property. Then I ran into Deanna (from Corporate ?) and she was awesome. We had a great chat and of the comments she made was this Hilton property has to keep up with the surrounding hotels. This is fantastic! ||In sum, our stay was a five star experience!! Always look forward to staying here. ||*yes, I did check the vents in the room and the hotel's stairwell. Spotless and the stairwell was the cleanest of any hotel I...
