Postern is a comforting resting perch for anyone needing a place to do work, catch-up, or to nerd out on some incredible high quality coffee or tea. It's a joyous find for a tea lover such as myself who's sick and tired of subpar matcha and being swindled on a cup of tea when it's just hot water with a teabag. It's the perfect blend of "comfy like a living room" yet lively and novel enough to leave the home for- you can sense there was a lot of intentional design in this space with a bar for the quick and casual, tables for those who need a bit longer, and couches and cozy chairs for those who need a bit of reprieve. The owners are all knowledgeable, friendly, and have a heart for serving. The coffee and tea here are made with palpable intention of being made correctly and precisely. The menu has something for everyone- the classics (espresso, latte, etc), teas (matcha and loose leaf), and novel blends and recipes for those who want something new! Personally, the best made coffee and teas are the ones that can be enjoyed for all of its complex layers or with a level of precision that allows for mindless enjoyment because there are no intrusive or unpleasant tastes- As they say, the best service is the one you sometimes don't notice. That being said, being an absolute tea and matcha fiend, I had a matcha latte and their brewed teas- the matcha latte was pleasant, indulgent, not too sweet so the matcha is still very present. It was made with ceremonial grade matcha resulting in no bitterness or poor aftertaste (a sign that they used the correct water temps and good quality matcha). The brewed teas were refreshing, served at the perfect temperatures and steeping time to reflect the highlights of the tea. It's served with a fairness pitcher so you can enjoy multiple cups of tea. It was loose leaf brewed (unlike the typical nasty bagged tea) and the menu had accurate tasting notes. Overall, a non-pretentious, cozy cafe to enjoy an excellent cold or hot beverage to do as you wish with excellent owners and staff who run things with precision, intention, and a lot of care.

WOW. This has made the list of coffee shops in Atlanta that I WILL come back to. NEED to, really.

And I’ll have you know, I frequent Atlanta quite often since I have family here so I’ve been to more coffee shops in the area than most, and very few have left me desiring to come back. But Postern did that. Heck, I even bought a shirt to remember them by!

As soon as I saw they had an ube latte on the menu, I knew I wanted to try it out. It’s a coconut ube latte, and it was as delicious as it was beautiful. Sweet but not too much so you still appreciate the coffee and just wow.

They had a “Korean Palmer” that was super refreshing and nice if you don’t want coffee. The chocolate sea salt cookie we tried was really good- deep chocolate flavor but not overly sugary. Everything was great. I honestly wished I would’ve ordered another ube latte or they had a mega size, LOL.

The whole vibe here too was just so on point. The workers behind the bar were so kind and friendly and I really enjoyed talking to them. The artwork and decor was modern but paid homage to Asian roots and it really felt so cozy and like a nice place to hang out. Highly,...

PARKING Postern Coffee is within Minhwa Spirits and shares a public parking lot with the adjacent businesses. It's easy to find an available space! II. SERVICE Your meticulously crafted latte isn't going to be slopped into a paper cup here. Oh no, honey. We're talking glassware. Something so (oddly) rare. You'll notice a self-serve water station as well. Ordering is a breeze – just sashay up to the register, drop your desires, and they'll holler your name when your masterpiece is ready. Simple and chic. III. QUALITY This place delivers top-notch taste that lives up to the gorgeous presentation. IV. CAPACITY Weekends are happening at Postern ~ Business is booming, and for good reason. So, if you're heading there on a Saturday or Sunday, be prepared for a bit of a crowd.
