The only thing I didn't like about the experience the staff had no control over which was the loud table in the middle of the cafe, but let us not dwell on that. This place was wonderful. I was looking for a cozy cafe to visit that I have not yet been to. Ark Coffeehous was close by, just off the interstate, and relatively easy to spot with sufficient parking. The interior is very spacious, and they did well at making sure the tables are not crammed too close to one another. There is even a study area with a long table. This open space may be what added to the acoustics of voices bouncing everywhere, but it looked nice. There is a little corner full of products from what I assume are local business, organic materials, and cute trinkets to purchase. At the counter you are presented with a good variety of baked goods, all looking fresh and absolutely delicious. I was very surprised and pleased at the options. The scones stood out to me of course because they looked great, and we'll get to what we ordered in a bit. The menu of drinks was broad but not overwhelming. We were able to easily read through it and make our choices quickly. The staff is very nice and know what they are doing when it comes to the tea steeping. I am ignorant when it comes to coffee because I don't drink it, but I have always been into tea and having a place that offers loose leaf and knows how to steep...bravo. The people were so nice and welcoming, adding the vibrant atmosphere. They kept the place neat and inviting, and the way they present their products is different than some places. Now, what we ordered: I got myself a blueberry lemon scone (or was it lemon blueberry?), and got oolong tea along with it. My partner got herself a delicious blueberry muffin and drip. She is the coffee drinker and knows a thing or two about the bean. She appreciated that it did not taste watered down and it was as simple as it is supposed to be. Her muffin tasted good and she was also happy with the customer service and the spacious aesthetic. My scone, being warmed up, was really good. One of the better scones I've had. I am usually hesitant ordering scones because seldom to I find one that appeals to my taste buds, yet here they got me. I see myself returning for another flavor in the near future. I was very happy with it. So much so, I ate it within a few minutes. The oolong tea was at just the right temperature and was delicious. You know what added to the experience? The price. We never went over $20 and considering what we ordered it is expected since many cafes seem to overprice their products since cafes are so popular. We were very pleased with the price and the taste. The visit is something worth noting, and will have us returning again, trying something different and hopefully with the same...
Read moreMy husband and I moved to Dunwoody about 3 years ago and we were on the hunt for a local coffee shop for our Friday pick-me-ups. We tried a handful but knew immediately that Ark would be our go to coffee spot. Fast forward to present day and we have gone to Ark almost every week since discovering them. We love the coffee and teas! Their weekly themes and specials are so creative and delicious. Their Instagram reels are also so funny and relatable. You can tell they care about their customers - from hospitality to sustainability, they care. They don't ask for tips because they pay their workers a livable wage. They set up a pumpkin recycle after fall last year where if you bring your real pumpkins after you've used them for decorations, they donate it to a farm and you get a free coffee. They have plenty of baked good options and space to sit and work in. One time we had ordered an iced coffee and after John put a lid on, it was over flowing and dripping and instead of handing it to us, he said he hates when people hand a messy cup so he took the time to pour a little bit out, put on a new lid, and cleaned the outside of the cup before handing it over. It's the little things. Overall- we love Ark and we recommend it to...
Read moreWhere do I even begin with this place?! First of all, I love the quality of their ingredients - all of their syrups and pastries are made in-house, and it’s evident in the taste. I have never had even a mediocre latte from here; they’re always delicious and their roast/coffee beans are a step above. They are consistent with their customer service - I’ve come in many times closer to closing time due to my schedule and the staff is always accommodating, patient, and welcoming. They recently won a yelp award and they most definitely deserve it! They have a little shopping section in-store that contains a plethora of local products from small businesses which I love. I also really appreciate their mission - paying employees a liveable wage that is not reliant on the tipping system, and no waste! All of their scraps go to the animals of a local farm, and their cups/dishware are all biodegradable! I could go on, but I think you should see for yourself. They just recently celebrated their first business anniversary back in November I believe. Definitely a gem in Dunwoody and Ark has honestly worked its way up to #1 coffee in the...
