Ordered from this restaurant for the first and last time. I called my order in for pick up. First while driving with my gps (first time here) it had me in the back in the apartments (I reported this to google for wrong destination) Once I finally got the right directions from the person who recommended the restaurant and arrived. I was not greeted. And I finally the sign that said go to the bar for pick ups. Get to the bar, and my food is sitting in two bags but instead of them asking me what I ordered so I can get my food and go, I was told to wait on Nicole who was taking orders at all the tables and then I was greeted by two children who asked me asked me if they could help me and asked what my order was, I told them and the little girl said “this is your food right here” but instead they were stopped by the lady with the long blond ponytail and told to wait for Nicole who was still taking orders at tables. I waited an additional 10 mins for Nicole to finish what she was doing for her to go straight to the register and say cash or card? I said cash. She said $59. No greeting no nothing. For this place to be highly recommended, I found every body rude except the children. Might I also add that I am a black woman and was the only black customer...so maybe that had something to do with my extended rude wait. I definitely will not be back. I wanted Hunt’s and my friend swore by this place. First and last time they will get my money. Needless to Say, that unnecessarily long wait had my overpriced and under seasoned food cold by the time I got back to my destination. Fried pickles were cold and blah. Cheese grits with all 3 orders of catfish and shrimp was very watery. Fish wasn’t seasoned enough. Between the service and the quality of food by the time I got it, sure was not worth $59. Shoulda been...
Read moreI've been visiting all of the karaoke venues in the wiregrass area this past week. On Saturday June 30, 2018 I visited Bossman's Seafood. While I primarily visited to participate in karaoke, I DID eat dinner while there. I will review both.
After visiting as many karaoke venues in the Wiregrass area that I could find, I've come to the conclusion that all of the KJs in the area do not have a good understanding of equalization and how vocals should fit into a musical mix. This venue is no exception. While the music eq was acceptable, the vocal mix was muddy, unintelligible and at most times was drowned out by the backing track. Like most other karaoke venues, this one also does not have a vocal monitor for the singer. Backing tracks are of acceptable quality.
While listening to karaoke singers, I ordered the chicken strip dinner with cole slaw and french fries (cooked crispy). I adored the crunchy outside coating on the chicken tenders. It was very tasty. Sadly it was the inside that did me in. I attribute it to being undercooked as the strips were almost rubbery in the very middle. I've been seeing this occasionally at privately owned restaurants. Cooks are not thoroughly cooking chicken in an attempt to keep the insides moist. It's a balancing act that could be remedied by using a food thermometer when cooking. It was so under cooked in the middle that I could not eat the remainder of them. The slaw was good and the french fries were cooked crispy just as I had asked for them.
A solid 3...
Read moreFood is good, but the service SUCKS. We got food and never saw our waitress again. And they add a dollar charge if you pay with card and of course they don't tell you this, so they're making bank off these charges alone. There was only a few tables, by no means was it packed on a Saturday night, and the cashiers excuse was "Oh, we have larger tables." I only saw a table of six and a couple other 2-3 people tables, and your excuse for not waiting your tables is because you had maybe 12 customers in the restaurant. I'd hate to see the service if you are actually busy. Our water glasses sat empty for twenty minutes while we were eating and we never saw hide nor hair of a staff member, and we were sitting in view of the kitchen. Won't be going back, would rather go to Graceville for good seafood and...
