The food was great and service by the was as well. However when I walked in about 9 am I noticed the lady on the grill rocking and rolling while the average height to a little shorter white guy with very short hair or a shaved head (it was hard to tell for sure from where I was standing) was holding a cell phone with a cell phone talking on it and trying to cook as well. I feel like that information is relevant because I think it needs to be addressed by someone and now I'll explain why. While the lady had multiple orders running at one time trying to keep up, he had about 1/4 of his station rolling. There were plates lined up from one end of the countertop to the next that were set up and waiting for food to be dropped on them. When one of the waitresses approached me and took my order at some point the guy just disappeared. When that happened a few of the waitresses that also had customers to attend to attempted to help the lady on the grill as much as they could. At some point the woman working the grill, while still attempting to keep up as much as she could, looked over her shoulder at one of the waitresses and ask where the man was calling him by name which I didn't catch. The waitress went into the back office area and came back with the guy. During absence I heard one of the other waitresses say something about them being short staffed. Then when I left I saw 2 people (a young woman and young man) out back smoking for sure but it's possible there was another or more based on the way they standing, their body language and the way they talking. Now these people may have been on break or lunch or something but with them outside the other man should have never left his station until they were caught up barring some sort of REAL emergency. Chit chating on your personal cell phone while leaving a co-worker in the weeds is a real jerk move and extremely bad work ethic. Kudos to the ladies keeping it rolling as much as they could alone though...
Read moreWe went in this evening one of our teen daughters and a friend of hers is into BTS so they ordered a meal via the Internet through McDonald's to eat and met us at this Waffle house where we met my dad. We have no sooner started to order than the girls pull up and this cook starts running off at the mouth about the girls McDonald's while there in the parking lot he says nothing when they walk in and sit down. Waits till there siting in the booth next to us and talking with us to say anything so my wife addresses him and says these are our children there not leaving. He kept running his mouth so I went to the counter and asked the waitress in the best voice I could since I have had a stroke if he would rather us take our money elsewhere. She said no so we sat there and ate while the cook exiled himself to the back till we were outside. Well the food was alright no butter on the toast and our encounter with our waitress started out rocky but ended up very pleasant. I do have a video that I found disturbing as they were getting ready to change shifts and notice where the cash drawer is and that the bin under it was wide open if this video loads. Well I can't get the video to load but the girl put the cash drawer right on the ice bin and left it there and put a menu over it to cover it up and there were managers walking by saying nothing. I say managers but cooks are supposed to be in charge but there lacking a lot there. Thats how I feel about my visit tonight to the Awful House on the Southside of...

Next, consider the high volume of customers traveling through Dothan that stop at this WH. How many of them would ever write a review, or file a complaint? When I checked my credit card the next day, that $20.00 tip had turned into $60.00. Since I use to go to WH in Dothan all the time, I figured I'd just stop by and talk the manager. I screwed up by not getting a receipt. All I was looking for was something like I am sorry, and we will watch it in the future. What the manager said is he looked at the camera for that time. He did not see me at the time and place. The waitress and the cook we talked did not work that shift. I am guessing I was being too nice. After I left it dawned on me, he basically said I lied. The truth of the matter is, yes, they picked up $40.00 to much. But WH in Dothan has lost more than this by my friends, and myself not going to it anymore. If you are smart, I suggest you bypass these Waffle Houses and stop at the next town. Make sure you get a receipt. Oh, if you can't wait, the Toasted Yolk, Metro, Moms, and even Shoney's have good breakfast. Just get...
