This is a long one but I want to explain the ratings clearly.

I'd heard good things and decided to try EXACTLY what I heard was delish. So, I called in an order for Beef Rib Tips with Collards and Potato Salad.. I took a note that the person taking the order didn't give a total, a time expectation or read back the order... They just said Okay after getting my name, and hung up.

Any other person may've took that as a Red flag but I understand when it's busy decorum can be short AND sometimes when the food is great, they no longer need decorum at all (and we accept it happily).

This place needs it. They need it bad. I'm going to preface this review with a quick "read my bio" because, for me, if the customer service sucks, the food better be amazing, and it ain't.

I arrive to pickup and note that there's a few tables eating in but overall not crazy busy. My order with my name on it is sitting at the pick-up station and there's a worker (with her back to me) on the phn taking a order. I stood there for 10mins while 3 other workers walked right by me repeatedly and or stood and looked at me and NO ONE said a word. Not a "She'll be right with you". Not a "have you been helped". Not a "give us one moment, ma'am". Nothing. And it wasn't that they were busy working. They were mostly mulling around and, at one point, sitting. 10 mins and I'm literally looking at my order and waiting. Then, when the phn worker gets done with the call, she does not say a word to the person standing right behind her. Instead, she walks over and begins to put another carry out order together. She takes it over to a gentleman who was sitting at a table and takes his payment because why hadn't he paid? Once he's out the door, THEN I suppose I was no longer invisible and she asks if I need to place an order. All that said, when I got home I realized I had Macaroni & Cheese instead of Collards... Had to call and go back to get them.

The review: Not impressed. The Rib tips seemed a bit overcooked for me but not bad tasting. I'm never one to say my palate is pristine but this tasted like regular pork ribs to me and beef just doesn't taste like pork in my world. The cuts were messy....but yall can see the picture. The Collards were not may fave. There was a smokiness in there that I wasn't a huge fan of. The potato Salad was solid tho(which is hard to do). I tried the Mac & cheese just to review it. It should be called Cheese and Mac because never in my life would I think I could believe there was too much cheese in a Mac & Cheese.... This one has literally more cheese than Macaroni noodles. Too much for me.

Overall, I'm good on BBQ King. But maybe the name should change to BBQ Squire or BBQ Prince...? He maaaaay be playing higher...

Staying in the area and wanted some real bbq for a birthday dinner. So after a good bit of research, we landed in this place based on the reviews. Didn’t look fancy & the food reviews sounded great. We’ve ate a lot of bbq and we’re looking forward to it. Unfortunately…we arrived around 5:30pm and didn’t realize they might run out of meats so soon into the dinner time. So they had a full rack of ribs left, which we took. Also tried out the fried okra, baked beans, and collards. We missed out on the mac n cheese which I definitely wanted to try & will get next time. We also got a pork chop dinner in case the ribs weren’t enough for both of us (but we ended up taking them home - they looked delicious). The waitress and the owner were super helpful and friendly as it was our first time there. Our food came out quickly and was hot. Have to say - we LOVED the ribs. I usually prefer baby back ribs - but these were amazing. Meaty, tender and their bbq sauce is SPOT ON. Not too sweet, not too spicy. Probably some of the best ribs and sauce we’ve tried -even after traveling thru Texas. We didn’t try the other sauce option - mustard based. The sides were all super yummy - but the collards - oh my - the BEST we’ve had we both agreed. We ordered some extra to take home. Dining area was tidy & comfy chairs. We will definitely be back - a bit earlier next time so we can try some other options before they sell out. GET THERE EARLY! ...

This is a long story, well... long about stumbling across the best bbq and the sweetest people. My family is on a very long road trip, this leg was from Atlanta to Panama City Beach. Driving along I spot these 2 huge smokers in front of a BBQ restaurant and I made my husband turn around. After chatting with the sweetest girl behind the counter I settled on chicken, ribs, pulled pork with mac & cheese and collards for our sides. She knew we were a family of 4 in the van so when it came out, she threw in a little more for us to share. It was not lost on me that she in no way had to do this. The plan was to eat and drive... but we ended up standing at the van door scarfing it down immediately. The meat was smokey, fall-off-the-bone tender. The favor devine. The collards might be the best thing I ever had 🙌 Anyhoo... If you are lucky enough to live close to this gem, this has to be a regular spot for you. If they ever manage to ship to PA, you'll have your first...

This was a “happen upon” barbecue joint on our way back from Amelia Island, Florida. We found it through a Google search and was mainly chosen because it was one of the only top ones that were open on Sunday. It was a small local place and very hometown feel on the inside. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt as well as the owner. I got the half rack rib plate with potato salad and side salad. The potato salad was typical Southern style and was good. The ribs and sauces were nothing less than fantastic. My brother had the trio with ribs, chicken and pulled pork and he too loved his. We both agreed this was some of the best, if not the best barbecue we’ve ever had and we’ve tried several different places. If you are ever in the area, you won’t be disappointed.
