A great asset to have in a small southern town. Art has been the cornerstone of civilizations since the beginning of time. It is expressed in many ways, our imagination and creativity is the conduit for canvas, pottery, music, photography, dance, adornments, soft and hard sculptures, architecture, writing and more. Art has provided us a history of ourselves, our surroundings, our social structure, in fact without art expression we could characterize ourselves as soulless, empty, cold. I am an artist, a deeply feeling, intuitive person who tends to be a realist struggling with the beautiful and often times ugly landscape called humanity. I thank the founders, those that donate time and money, the trusts in place to keep the WMA open, the thinkers who resolve funding issues, the program director and staff, everyone of you for giving us this beautiful gem so we all can treasure the gift of sight, expression and understanding into the creative minds of...

It had been a while since I've been to this museum, maybe over 15 years. I stopped by to check out the exhibits and I was impressed. This building is incredibly clean and well maintained. They had a lot of great art there. Even though it's a very small building. There is a little bit of something for everybody, and I'm really glad that I stopped by.

The security guard and the lady that were at the museum today were very friendly and very helpful. There is so much great art here and you should stop by if you are in the area because it would only take about 30 minutes or so to...

This free art museum in the heart of Dothan combines permanent and rotating exhibits in a historic brick building. The small gift shop features books, prints, and various items featuring the slogan "art elevates the everyday." While construction was still ongoing at the time of my visit, making it awkward to get in and out of the parking lot, it was well worth the trip, especially with the friendly, welcoming staff waiting just inside the doors.

A beautifully curated selection of local art! I will be back for the energy this space offers. Perfect for an afternoon sketch or a meditative environment to be still amongst the featured artists.
