If you enjoy craft beer, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere, The Thirsty Pig is worth a visit. It’s a spot that brings people together over great drinks...
Read moreThirsty Pig Craft Beer Taproom is a fantastic spot tucked away in downtown Dothan. It's run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can feel that personal touch in the atmosphere and service. While it’s not a traditional bar, the taproom offers a great selection of craft beers—including a variety of IPAs and other brews—along with wine options. Whether you're into bold hops or something a little smoother, there’s something for everyone.
The newly remodeled back area is a highlight. It’s fully covered, with plenty of fans to keep things cool (and heaters for the colder months), plus enough space to comfortably host live bands. It really strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and lively. The whole space is welcoming and family-friendly, which isn’t something you find often at places serving alcohol.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable—ready to offer suggestions without being overbearing. I didn’t try the food this time, so I left that rating blank, but everything else about the visit made it a really enjoyable experience.
The only minor downside is the 9 PM closing time, but given the laid-back vibe and smaller food selection, it honestly makes sense. This isn’t a late-night bar scene—it’s a well-kept, community-oriented spot to unwind with good drinks, good people, and great atmosphere.
Highly recommend it if you're in the area and looking for a place to relax...
