Wendy's — Restaurant in Dothan

(TLDR: Terrible service)

The review below goes into my last visit at Wendy's (and I mean last). Out of the last 8-9 patronages there I've had just terrible service, and really poor quality food. A far cry from when they first opened up. I gave them a fair shot, but I'm done.

Starting off, the person on the intercom just mumbles, making it impossible to know where they are at in the ordering process. Whatever, I thought, maybe their is an equipment issue, I'll just order and see what I get at the window. When I pull up to the line at the window I can already tell things weren't going to go smoothly. The other customer in front of me was in the middle of an argument with the Wendy's staff. What I could make out from them yelling was that he got the wrong order and the staff seemed to not really care to resolve the issue. So if that's anything to go by, I'm already expecting issues when it's my turn. And as expected, when it's my turn to get my order the worker at the window (not the same person that took my order FYI) just sits there and stares at me without saying anything. At first I wasn't even sure they worked there because he was wearing a beanie and white graphic t-shirt. No Wendy's insignia at all. Eventually, after this weird interaction goes on for about 10-15 seconds, I just end up handing them my card because I don't have all day. Finally they decided to say something, to my shock, by just yelling at me "YOU WANT YO RECEIPT?!". Bruh. Anyways, after I finally get my food I ask if I can get ketchup, and without saying a word, the dude just walks off leaving me thinking I was just ignored. Eventually he did end up coming back, all the while muttering to himself about something. My best guess is he had an attitude with the manager. He then, in the same vein of our previous interactions, he decided to just slam-dunk the packets into my hand. Bro, I get you dislike your job, but don't take that out on customers who didn't give you any trouble. And to put salt on the wound they never seem to care about getting the drink right. It's like a 80% chance you'll get regular Dr. Pepper when you ask for diet Dr. Pepper. I doubt I'll be eating here again, place has just gone down hill. They make you feel as if you are a...

I have never experienced such a rude for no reason drive thru in my life. I pulled up tonight with one car ahead of me in line and an empty parking lot. Was asked to please wait to order to which I replied “sure no problem” because I really am not an impatient person at all. It took a longer than I expected time to ask for my order, but I figured they must just be short handed. No biggie. I ordered a Dave’s double combo with no onions or tomatoes, with a large fry and large dr. Pepper and 3 small chocolate frosties. Nothing crazy. She asked if that completed my order to which I replied I would like some ranch as well and then she read back my order and asked if that would be all. I replied that I would like to confirm that the fries in my order were large (because she hadn’t repeated that my order was for a large combo) and this woman replied in a really rude attitude “You said large didn’t you? So it’s gonna be a large fry.” Like I was the idiot for asking. I was actually really shocked because I wasn’t rude nor impatient with her the entire time. I hadn’t complained at all or order some obscene amount of complicated meals. And listen, I really don’t believe in giving fast food workers a hard time because that can be a stressful job and I just don’t personally think it’s right to be a jerk to people working customer service jobs. But damn, I was really offended and honestly I will never go back and I will warm other people not to as well if that is the type of service you are going to get. Oh and they forgot the ranch and only filled the large fry container like halfway up. Like WTH? Two thumbs down. I guess I’m the dummy for not noticing how dead the place was on a Saturday night, but now I realize it’s probably because other people have already stopped going there for the same reason. I get that people can have a bad night but you need to maintain at least some professional dignity. And why be rude to someone that isn’t even giving you a hard time? One of the slowest, rudest, and most complainant staffs you’ll find in Dothan. Day shift is usually nice enough, but the night crew is mostly horrible. Of course there are exceptions as some are nice. But most times it’s a bad experience. This afternoon, I got in the drive thru at 5:53. Didn’t pull off until about 6:30. The young girl at the window had a serious attitude issue that I will be discussing with the manager tomorrow even though I hate that I have to. I hate that I didn’t get her name. As I come through the drive thru she tells me “you’d be better to come inside”. No thank you. I rode by and saw how long the line is inside. If I’m at the drive thru window, you can’t just ignore me the way you’re ignoring them, I think to myself. Another woman came outside and said she’d been waiting for 25 minutes. I’m not going to be too rough about the wait time because it gets frustrating to get busy and not be able to keep up, I’m sure. But the way this young lady handled it was disappointing and repulsive. As I’m at the drive thru window, all she does is complain. She said a woman had been talking to the speaker for 2 minutes “I’m ignoring you. I don’t know why you don’t drive off!” She said. As if that weren’t enough, she gives me 3 straws for 7 drinks. I tell her that I need 4 more. She ignores me. She had also ignored me when I asked for a cup holder. But I can live without the cup holder but not the straws. I ask her again kindly “ma’am I need 4 more straws”. “I already gave you straws!” She VERY rudely says. After a loud groan as if I greatly inconvenienced her by causing her to do her job. I said no I need 4 more. Giant groan again as she hands me like 12 straws very rudely. Giant waste.
