Food is excellent as always but the service is something to be desired. We had a call in order and were told that it would be approximately 15 to 20 minutes before it would be ready for pick up. Got to Zack‘s to pick it up 25 minutes after the original call. A lot of people standing around not sure what they should do, call in orders mixed in with people trying to order on the spot. no one knowing what they should do . stood in a line that was very confusing on how you should proceed to pick up your order for at least 20 minutes before I arrived at the counter to ask for my order. Seen several people upwards of 10 that had arrived after me filled out their orders got them and left before I reach the counter. When I reach the counter no one has heard about my order it takes them a few minutes to find it. it has not even been processed yet at this point it’s almost an hour after the original call. I have one question for the owners have you ever heard that one Dissatisfied customer turns into two turns into 10 and so on. Judging by the comments that I heard others in the line make I was not the only dissatisfied customer that day and when asking The attendant if they could please process my order as fast as possible because I was told one thing and actually got my food and hour after that. they had smart comments to make about how busy they were. maybe you should understand where your pay comes from. If you’re going to allow Call in, then maybe you might want to have a different line for Call in versus walk ups and process the call in as they’re coming in not after they’ve waited in a line for 20 minutes when they get there to find out that you haven’t even started processing...
Read moreExcellent food & service! I should have took pictures but I was just enjoying the moment! It was my Dad's 83rd Birthday and this is where he wanted to go for Sunday lunch, and it did not disappoint! Everyone in our family loves the food here and we haven't been since they rebuilt it, and we were amazed at how nice the new building is! It is much better suited for the large crowds now, with a couple of nice waiting areas with games and rocking chairs and other creature comforts, instead of the constant line pushing its way through the building like it was, with not enough tables to handle the massive crowds! Now it's so much more pleasant of a dining experience, with the same great food and service! I asked the waitress if they had anything really embarrassing to do for my dad's birthday, and she said we can sing! I was so impressed with how they stopped everything for a moment, and got everyone's attention, and with everyone's help sang Happy Birthday to my dad!! Even people from the kitchen seemed to be participating!! *It really seemed so genuine and honestly the sweetest thing to do, it felt like a small little hometown restaurant, (which I know that's what it began as), (with great owners and real family people working there), but they really captured a special moment in time for our family, and I greatly appreciated the fact that they would go to such extraordinary lengths for our little family party for My Dad!!!!! FIVE STARS ISN'T ENOUGH to show how much that MY FAMILY LOVES ZACK'S FAMILY...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Zach’s Family Restaurant since the reopen. I tried to call in an order since it was already 2 p.m. and they close at 2:30 p.m., but there was no answer. So, I decided to head over and arrived around 2:04 p.m. to place my order in person.
I chose the fried pork chop, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, and cornbread. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned with a crispy, golden crust that was full of flavor, while the mashed potatoes were creamy and complemented well by the savory gravy. The turnip greens had just the right amount of seasoning, delivering that authentic Southern taste, and the cornbread was warm and slightly sweet, with a texture that paired wonderfully with the meal.
The plate cost $16, which included one meat, two sides, a dessert, and a drink. You also have the option to substitute the dessert for a third side. While the food was undeniably tasty and satisfying, I felt like the price was rather high for a lunchtime meal.
The staff was courteous despite the late hour, and I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that Zach’s takes pride in serving good food and maintaining a friendly environment.
Overall, the experience brought back fond memories of the way Southern comfort food should taste. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, I’ll plan to arrive a bit earlier to fully enjoy the experience without...
