Rigo's Taqueria — Restaurant in Douglas

When we walked in the restaurant smelled like my Abuelita's kitchen when I was growing up, and immediately my stomach started rumbling. Both my husband and myself ordered the Carne Asada and drinks (Grapefruit Jarrito & Mexican Coke in a bottle) for lunch. The chips and salsa were individual servings, which was nice, and the salsa itself was delicious with a good flavor of cilantro. The Carne Asada was a generous portion and very well seasoned. The only downfall was having a butterknife to cut it with, but the meat wasn't tough that we couldn't cut it. However having arthritis made it difficult for me, but I made it work just the same. Overall it was a very pleasant lunch for a good price. We absolutely plan to return to try more items, especially when they have mangoes for Mangonadas. RIGO’S TAQUERIA ❤️

This is the only taqueria in Douglas, I assume. I traveled South from up North (4 hr commute). Great and fast service!! The food is delicious and everything tortilla, gordita wise is made by hand. The juiciness and tenderness of the seasoned meats with a squirt of lime juice is unexplainable. Besides that, the staff is very kind, they greet you with a smile, and their agua de horchata (rice water) IS BOMB!! I love it and the tacos and the gorditas, definitivamente regresare a Rigo’s Taqueria when I’m down in South Georgia next time. I highly recommend this place! This is a hole-in-the-wall place. When I went in it was later in the afternoon probably around 3 or 4. And no one else was there. This is authentic Mexican food. My food was fresh and taste very good the service I received was good. Why is waiting on the food and older Mexican gentleman that work there attempted to make conversation with me even though his English was not the best. I thought it to be funny that he thought I was fluent in speaking Spanish. I imagine most of the customers here are spanish-speaking based on...
