Placed a catering order 2 days in advance - 2 large and 1 small sub trays - for my son's birthday party. It was to be ready for pickup at 1pm on a Sunday (11-14-21). I arrived at 1:15 and was told it wasn't ready and to give them about 10 minutes. I ran across street to Redners for 10 minutes and returned but still not ready. Lady said one tray was ready but others were not. I saw sub rolls cut and waiting on work area with nothing in them, same as when I left 15 minutes previously. I was told they were waiting on the Wagu roastbeef to be ready. Phone was ringing the whole time I was there and was never answered. One worker said to the other worker to not answer it unless it was (someone's name - I'm assuming probably their supervisor). Several other people were waiting while I was there and a couple of people just walked out. FINALLY - at 2:00PM - an hour later than promised (and the time my son's party started with me not there) I received all of my sub trays and condiments, but no apology for the wait. Another customer, who probably noticed the frustration on my face, asked me how long I had been waiting and I told her the trays were an hour late. At that point, the worker said, well our rolls didn't get here until 1:00, so sorry about that - but it was not a genuine statement, it was more of a just get over it statement. And I don't think it was them just waiting on rolls, why were they also waiting for the roast beef to be ready? I was so frustrated with the whole experience - and the whole not my problem attitude. I certainly understand if things happen - if the rolls were late they have phone number and email to let me know - or to apologize when I arrived and explain the situation - or to offer to take a few dollars off the bill - $240 by the way! Or heck, even to offer a cookie and be sincere in their apology. I went to this location because the last time I ordered sub trays there (in August) they were done on time, were fresh and tasted good. During that visit, the lady working (I think the manager) was so kind and even helped me carry things to my Jeep. That made me want to go back to this location. Unfortunately, this last visit will be just...
Read moreCapriotti’s Sandwich Shop in Dover, Delaware, is a delightful spot that serves up some of the most satisfying sandwiches in town. Their menu offers a great variety of options, each filled with fresh, flavorful ingredients that speak to their commitment to quality.
The standout for me was their signature sub, The Bobbie. It’s a Thanksgiving feast in a sandwich, packed with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. The balance of flavors is spot on, making it a must-try for anyone visiting Capriotti’s.
The atmosphere in the shop is casual and welcoming, perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed meal. The staff at this location deserves a special mention for their friendly and efficient service. They make you feel like a regular from your very first visit.
What keeps this review at four stars instead of five is the occasionally long wait times, especially during peak hours. While the end product is undoubtedly worth the wait, a quicker turnaround would elevate the overall experience.
In summary, Capriotti’s in Dover is a solid choice for anyone in the mood for a hearty, well-made sandwich. Their dedication to quality ingredients and the variety in their menu are impressive. I’ll definitely be returning for more of their...
Read moreI highly recommend that who ever reads this please don't not eat from this facility or to say this store me and my son had ordered sandwiches from this store I wouldn't give them one star but that's only way to tell you my experience but I ordered an 2 Italian subs hardly any meat on it ! Then ordered 2 bobbies for his wife and mine soaked in mayonnaise they had to scrape off told them light on the mayo and last at least on there app states order 2 sandwiches get free grill cheese that would've been for my granddaughter ! We didn't get it but after all that we got sick the next day sitting on the toilet all day having stomach cramps ! I personally know the capriotti's who started this business they're probably turning over in there grave by smearing the name and the way they made there sandwich ! I guess that's what happens when you franchise your business there's no pride on how you represent the business and the way they make their food they don't deserve one star need oh before I forget to mention that an employee chased a customer out of the store with her mouth ! I should've raised a red flag but didn't pay...
