So last night my family and me went to greers place we haven't been in a while and I knew the last time that we went. It was very good. When we went this time, unfortunately the human element has been removed from ordering and they've replaced it with kiosks. However, it's not a bad thing because it allows more people to place orders at once as well as for you to be able to see your options, but it does percent the possibility for technology to fail which it did last night. After we placed our order we grabbed a number told the machine what number we were and sat down at a table after I sat there and watched three other tables get surfaced with their food and all three of those tables had came in after us and my watch showed 35 minutes I decided to address the issue. And when I approach the counter with the receipt that we had, I showed the younger employee who was the first to make eye contact with me the receipt and several times of checking stated that we ordered two orders and that's why it was taking so long after a little bit of back and forth. The manager stepped forth from the back and discovered that the order was never even made. At this point, I know their food is good, so I'm willing to accept an apology and having them present something on my table, hopefully within a very decent and short amount of time. Since they realize their mistake I wouldn't have been happy but I would have accepted that as I think some of us have in this day and age. Instead he did something that I never thought he would do. He refunded my meal. He placed the order on an immediate rush and then presented us at with a gift card for the exact amount that we had spent. So we ate for free and in turn received a gift card so that we could again. This man did not have to do this, but he wanted to make sure that he would bring my business back again as I'm sure any good business owner would. When they realized that they have unfortunately failed their customer and he is correct, he will have my business again. The concern, the care and the willingness to accept one's mistake is huge in my part especially when you want me to bring you my business. It shows that not only do you care about your customers but you care as a person and if you can run a business using common Sense and being a decent human being then you will forever have customers he made sure to check on us that the food was good afterwards and he was kind. There was no yelling. There was no arguing. And once again the food was delicious and the prices were not horrible. If you come through this area, understand two things. One it sits next Sarah's ice cream creamery cuz sometimes it's hard to see the restaurant. Two there isn't a lot of seating inside but there is some outside and or you can do a Mobile order but the fact of the matter comes down to one thing and that is that this place needs to stay in The York county area for a very long time if you continue to offer great food. Great service and great prices. Then you will always attract great people who will be wanting to indulge in a quiet atmosphere where people can enjoy hearing music from the '80s and '90s admiring the unusual but very creative decor of the entire restaurant. But that being said, make sure the next time you're my county. You come to Dover township. You follow route 74 towards the Dover borough you look for the sign or building that says Sarah's creamery and then when you turn in the parking lot you drive past it and you will find greers and you won't regret it because I know I won't every single time I go back. Thank you Mr. Manager for making what could have been a bad experience turn into a...
Read moreVery disappointed. I have been wanting to try them since I heard they were opening. I finally got a chance and I greatly regret it. A older couple in front of me left because they couldn’t figure out the kiosk and no one was there offering to help. As I waited for my take out I observed the place was clean and bathroom was cute. I saw my drink being made then I continued to wait another 10 minutes thinking how my drink will now be watered down. As it was not busy I walked to the counter and saw my name on the only carry out bag and my name on the only burger and then there were 2 fries in the window so I thought hmmm why am I still standing here. So I politely asked a bleach blonde female to please check on my order. She said nothing to me but put my burger in my bag. I continued to wait and I couldn’t understand why. I had ordered a small perogie to try as well so I spoke up again and asked are you just waiting on my perogies- again she said nothing to me but a guy in the back heard and put my perogies in the window and she put them in the bag. I continued to wait without any communication from this female worker. There were still the 2 fries in the window she put them on a tray with some other food that had come up so at this point it’s almost 20 mins and I am feeling completely disrespected and not helped at all. So I had to speak up again and asked is there a reason I was not given a fry she explained she was working on a different order obviously having no idea how to expedite. Kept reading the screen several times and just standing there. Finally a guy with longer hair and a hat and another guy with short hair no hat got involved and apologized and said they were waiting on the fries and they would upgrade my order to a large. Finally after 21 minutes I left to get to my car to eat barely warm tasteless perogies, a cold tasteless burger and not hot fries. I didn’t understand why my fries were not hot. Then I looked deeper in the bag and saw another 2 fries that were hot. So my fries were in the bag this whole time and this employee had no regard for keeping the food hot, getting customers orders together and getting them out the door. Horrific customer service. The only thing that was good was the white birch beer. For $20 I’ll take my business elsewhere and I urge the owners to assure they have competent and friendly staff or they will no longer have a...
Read moreWe ventured out to try the new place in town, parking was horrible, plan on doing a little bit of walking, once we walked in we noticed all 4 kiosk were taken, and all of the parties ordering were struggling a lot, we wait approx 20 minutes before we could begin to order our food, prior to ordering I asked if they accepted cash, and they said no,, but I could buy a gift card and use that ?? Which struck me as odd, you can take cash for a gift card but can’t take cash for food, the manager said the machines that take cash would cost 14.000 dollars and that’s why he didn’t have one, as we proceeded to order we noticed an older man had come in and was struggling with the confusing ordering process, the “manager” came up and started helping him, however it quickly turned ugly, the manager said the guy said a cuss word and refused to server the man, even after the man apologized, the manager was aggressive and told him they weren’t going to make him anything and told him to get out, oddly enough the manager was the one making a scene, the older man proceeded to leave, as we tried to complete our order we told there waiting to be helped to check out, the one employee who was working the counter was busy trying to help another customer stumble their way through the ridiculous ordering process, we waited a few more minutes, while we waited we notice the manager bragging about throwing the older gentleman out to his employees while we’re standing there waiting for help,,, at this point we had enough and decided to leave, once outside we seen the older gentleman who was thrown out, he said he got confused and got frustrated and just cussed in general and meant nothing by it, I apologized to him and then thanked him for his service, yes he was a vet, I personally will not return to this establishment for countless reason, but the way this so called manager reacted was just completely uncalled for, disrespectful, shameful, his arrogance was horrible!!! I couldn’t tell ya a thing about the food but what I can tell you is the people in charge need training and or fired, it’s a very expensive place, 3.80 for a soda with no refills, plan on 15-20 per person for burgers and fries!! And the management has the attitude that we should consider ourselves lucky to eat there!!! Honesty, i don’t see it lasting much more then a year or so if that’s how they are allowed to...
