Luxury Nails — Local services in Dover Township

This isn’t my first time at Luxury Nails. I paid $112 ($120 )with tip. DO NOT ZELLE. I got a deluxe pedicure which was great other than he removed my natural square shape. I didn’t like it but ok. However, my nails are not good at all. I asked for an acrylic overlay, something I’ve been getting for years and never dealt with an inexperienced tech like today. Again, after I told him I wanted my nails square, the shape was removed. Usually when I get an overlay, most techs are able to compensate for thin, cracked, or broken nails with the acrylic which is the point of an overlay. For some reason it was made into a very difficult task. My nails were still rounded, uneven, & much shorter than the nails i came in with. A different tech came over to fix the overlay but that didn’t matter in the end. Also I had to wait in the middle of my nails because they decided to do someone else’s nails. When I brought the shape to the tech attention he said when I come back he’ll try again. Very bold to think I’ll return. More training on shaping, modern techniques, and in general skilled techs should be able to do a simple square overlay without using tips or shorten the nails unless to even out This really made me disappointed & irritated. I never paid this much for a below average nail job and couldn’t ever imagine it being worth it here. I also added a photo of how an acrylic overlay usually look when shaped & done properly...

If I could give 0 stars, I would! My daughter decided to treat herself to getting her nails done. She has a condition that causes her hands to sweat a lot. It’s embarrassing for her. Well the ladies there this evening made her feel so bad and embarrassed about it that she called me crying when she was done. They kept bringing out fans and aiming them at her, had other nail techs come over who had their own clients to look and then they would proceed to laugh and talk about her. My daughter was even polite despite all this and said to then thank you and have a good night and they laughed again as she walked out the door. We will never be coming back. How immature they have to be to make someone feel like that. Without people like us, they wouldn’t have a job. Spend the extra money to go elsewhere. We’ll be telling everyone we know not to...

So I've moved to the Dover area about a year ago. I've been a regular at Golden Tree in Shrewsbury PA for quite a few years, so moving 45 minutes away was such a bummer. Anyway, I've tried a few salons within the York area, but then I came across Luxury Nails and decided to make an appointment on a whim. Communication was clear through FB messenger. I went in for an appointment at 12, I was taken pretty much right at 12. My tech was very kind, and broke all the pricing down for me (since I wanted a manicure, dip, and 5 colors on each nail..something different) she took her time, made sure throughout the appointment that I'm happy with the colors, and she also shaped my nails very nicely.
