Terrible experience!

The Quiet Man is A Tale of Two Tragedies!

Ah, The Quiet Man! A fine establishment… or at least, it was before it was hijacked by two unstoppable forces of destruction: The Men Who Would Not Stop Talking and The Playpen That Time Forgot.

Let’s start with the men. You know the type—middle-aged, pint-clutching philosophers who believe the entire pub is their personal podcast studio. I was treated to an unsolicited three-hour lecture on “why footballers don’t deserve their wages” and “the golden days of British television” (which, according to them, ended in 1998). One chap even attempted a live reenactment of an offside rule controversy using beer mats, much to the despair of his weary-looking mates.

Now, onto the playpen. What a relic. If museums displayed soft-play areas from the early '90s, this one would be in a glass case labelled “Warning: Contains Trace Elements of Fun”. The ball pit? More of a “ball puddle,” with a concerning ratio of plastic spheres to sticky debris. The climbing frame? Creaked like it was about to apply for retirement benefits. One poor child attempted the slide, only to find himself stuck halfway down, staring into the existential abyss.

The drinks were decent, and the chips were suitably greasy, but when your main takeaway is the sound of Dave from accounting ranting about "the youth of today” and the sight of a lost toddler being retrieved from the depths of a moth-eaten tunnel, you know it's time to find a new local.

Would I return? Only if I bring noise-cancelling headphones and a...

A local restaurant in the area which is very busy. It looks like it’s run by family but it looked like the bar was always full with locals. They did also have band singing and it was really crowded. Nice door decor .

The service is really good and fast and they are very attentive and polite.

Drinks: Raspberry Pineapple Martini( good), Irish cofffee( Very nice) , expresso martini (good) , kingeston beer ( good) , Mediterranean mule ( Not good) , Toasted almond margarita( good)

Food: Fries: Really fresh and good. Potato pancakes: Good and flavorful Chicken wings: Really crunchy and nicely tossed in the sauce. Chicken wrap: Really good and chicken was soft Caesar salad: Very nice as the dressing didn’t even make it to cheesy , It was really good. Cauliflower Pizza: Really good and was customized per requirement.

Dessert: Guineese Cake- It was ok !

But overall very good service, definitely...

I love, love, love the Quiet Man! If you want exceptional food, outstanding service and a warm, interesting ambiance….the Quiet Man is the place to go. They excel at upholding the tradition of allowing you to complete your appetizer before your salad and main meal arrive. The food is beyond compare, the chef has been there for over 40 years and delivers outstanding food every time. I highly recommend the Quiet Man as an exceptional place to go for a family meal or to impress your out-of-town guests. My most favorite restaurant to eat at in Dover, NJ! The food is exceptional, delicious, served piping hot and beautiful to look at right before you dig in...their presentation is artistic and colorfully (my own word) exciting! I feel joyful eating here. The waitstaff is attentive, wonderfully welcoming and treat you like family. Why would you...

It's impossible to be disappointed with the service or menu items entertainment was excellent as usual! I recently updated my review on another restaurant in Flanders and found that they were disappointed with my disappointed review. So I decided to update my review of the Quiet Man in Dover. I realize that I have been coming here since the mid 80's and I have never had a bad meal, never been dissatisfied with the service and always been treated and cared for like I was family. Nothing has changed in all these 37 years everything is excellent. The quiet man sets the bar for all other restaurants and wannabe Irish Pubs in the area. Today's special and Guinness cake are prime examples of the quality of their entrees. 5 🌟 plus
