Me and the family were very excited when we heard there was a new Connie’s opening in downers grove. But was very disappointed when we decided to give them a try. $83 bucks before tip for two pizzas and two apps especially of this quality is just wrong. Especially a 14 inch and 10 inch pizza… The frozen Connie’s pizzas have more flavor than this did. Just bland and boring. Really really a shame and dissapointing. Connie’s normally has a very tasteful sauce, and the crust adds some extra flavor from the corn meal on the bottom. Our pizzas sauce had no flavor and there was almost no corn meal to be seen. The pepperoni didn’t add any flavor just more chewing, same with the sausage. Both just ended up being pulled off. If you are looking for a great pizza for a reasonable price, look elsewhere. $65 for 2 - 14" glorified papa john / dominoes type pizzas. Their largest available size pizzas are 14". No extra thin crust tavern style. Their "Thin Crust" is doughy thick. All their dough is premade frozen. How can you not make larger than 14" pizzas or produce an Extra Thin / Tavern style crust?
Connie's thin crust Frozen pizzas that are sometimes on sale for $5.99 at Jewel is the wayyyy better route 💯
This place is a Wannabe pizza place.
No deep dish...like their location in the city, they offer their "Pan" pizza here, Blah. The Sausage is of very poor quality.
It's a shame bc I was excited to see the new Connie's sign when I was driving by not too long ago..
There are NUMEROUS less expensive, WAY better Real Pizza places...
