Background? We ordered via Uber Eats. The Diner apparently recently reopened due to COVID-19 shutdown. We ordered the chicken and waffle sliders and a side of house potatoes. What we liked? The waffles were delicious! Slightly sweet like waffles should be (we prefer them not to taste like a corrugated pancake, LOL) and tasted wonderful without any syrup. The syrup was a wonderful addition when added and we didn’t need to use much for it to enhance to flavor of the waffles. The chicken was tender and juicy and there was a lot of it. Probably enough for two people. Yummy! What we wished we had known? For delivery, the waffle/chicken come in a flat container with the chicken on top of the waffle. At first we were confused because we were looking for ‘sliders’ (sandwiches). After digging in the container a little, we realize that The Diner has cut the waffles so that we could create our sliders! We did and it was great! What we wished we had done differently? Taken photos for you to see!! We were so busy gobbling the food, we forgot! Summary? Great tasting food! We will definitely order again and eat-in when shelter-in-place is fully lifted! Do we recommend? Yes, yes, yes!

We went to this Diner at 12:40AM on a Sunday during after church rush hour. We drove about 40 minutes to get here and by the end of our meal, we thought it was well worth. The restaurant was slammed pack. We weren't in a rush and we're only a party of two. We were sat kinda quickly for how packed the place was and how little staff there seemed to be. Our food came out very quickly as well and was delicious. I ordered the Boston Cream pancakes and my husband ordered the Huevos Rancheros. We also got caramel and iced coffees, which were delightful. I came in expecting IHOP portions for their pancakes and was blown away with how much food I got. The pancakes were big and loaded. The Huevos Rancheros were also very good and felt fresh. The tomato/salsa was flavorful and every bite made you eager for another. Unfortunately, because we came during a rush hour we didn't get a lot of attention from our server. However, we went during a VERY busy time. Overall, the experience was 4.5/5. Definitely a place to bring family and friends, just go when it's not insanely busy. If you have a bigger party, I'd recommend calling ahead.

cute brunch place in the Dr. Phillips area. there are restrooms + there’s indoor and outdoor seating. the menu has a good variety of sweet and savory breakfast options along with some lunch options. there’s coffee available but, unfortunately, there are no milk substitute options. the service was a little slow considering the restaurant was pretty empty (Thursday morning). the food was really good though. we had the Chicken & Waffle Sliders ($14.99), the Tex-Mex omelette with extra potatoes instead of toast ($11.99), and the Nutella, Banana & Strawberries waffle ($12.99). the chicken and waffles were delicious- the chicken was juicy and crispy, the waffles were sweet and pillowy. the Tex-Mex omelette was super filling and everything inside tasted very fresh. the potatoes on the side were SO good, glad we asked for extra. the waffle under the Nutella, banana slices, and strawberries, was good but the banana slices and strawberries were too mushy. in the end, we were disappointed to see an added 4% fee for paying with a credit card. overall, i’d come back but probably bring cash and my own coffee.

We have been there twice. It was great the first time, hence the 2 stars or else it would be ZERO! The second time was a disaster! The hostess was a ditz. I gave her my name several times and she couldn't handle it. Not hard. I changed to my nickname, CJ she asked me how to spell it 4 times. No masks on, no excuse. After waiting about a 1/2 hour they texted she asked if I was DJ and I said CJ so we had to wait for her to get help to clarify her being unable to print 2 letters. We sat down and Austin was quick to the table, took our order and brought our drinks. It was downhill form there.

We sat right in front of the kitchen. Our order came up in about 20 minutes, not a bad wait for the weekend, but it sat they for another 20 minutes while people stood at the pass chatting over our food, moving it from side to side out of the way of other orders and tossing tickets on our food. Our server Austin walked by our food 14 times and never looked at the ticket. Three servers were standing there talking, looked out our ticket and threw it back up on the pass. Not one of them ran the food. Even more upsetting was what seemed to be the 2 managers, a big guy with a full beard (with no beard cover) that was very loud talkative with the staff and on his phone showing everyone and distracting them and a shorter woman with reddish short hair just stood there talking and laughing with both the foh and the boh! There was also a gal with very long braids that kept flipping them around over all the food on the pass. Yall this was a restaurant with a 30 minute wait and was packed!

Piss poor management. Our food was cold (obviously) and after it finally came more that 30 minutes our son's order wasn't even cooked yet. So for his birthday he got to watch us eat our cold food while he waited. I never got my side of grits either. This place is a disaster and the potatoes are just really gross. Go during the week in the very off hours and you will have a better experience

They never apologized for the poor experience and they did take the grits off the tab, but really I don't even have words for how disappointing @ the Diner is. Seriously, don't allow your employees to have phones out during service, don't allow them to have cups with their names on them scattered on the counter, don't allow them to walk around with a soda cup in their hands yelling across the dining room (the red headed lady) during service, run food and don't watch it get cold! Save your labor costs and get rid of these people, better...

A Hidden Gem for Delicious Food and Excellent Service!

If you're looking for an incredible dining experience near the amusement parks, look no further than @ The Diner. This hidden gem exceeded all our expectations with its amazing food, fast service, and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat.

First and foremost, the food at @ The Diner is simply outstanding. Whether you're a breakfast lover or craving a hearty lunch, this place has you covered. The fact that they serve breakfast all day was an absolute delight for us early risers. The menu offers a wide range of options, from classic American breakfast staples to unique and creative dishes that will make your taste buds dance with joy. Each dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and presented beautifully.

The service at @ The Diner was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to accommodate our needs. Despite being busy with a steady stream of customers, the wait staff managed to provide fast and efficient service without compromising on quality. It was evident that they genuinely cared about our dining experience.

One aspect that particularly caught our attention was the diner's commitment to our veterans. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff went out of their way to make veterans feel appreciated and respected. It's heartwarming to see a business that values those who have served our country.

Cleanliness is also a top priority at @ The Diner. The dining area, restrooms, and kitchen were all spotless, creating a pleasant and hygienic environment for all patrons. This attention to cleanliness further enhanced our dining experience and gave us peace of mind.

Lastly, the diner's convenient location near the amusement parks makes it a perfect spot to fuel up before or after a day of thrills and excitement. It's just a stone's throw away, saving you precious time and energy. Plus, the large menus ensure there's something to satisfy everyone's cravings, no matter their dietary preferences.

@ The Diner is a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking an exceptional dining experience near the amusement parks. We can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing...

I give the Owner 10 stars, if I could. First the visit, we were only driving thru the area after picking up family from the airport(bare with me, it will go back to the owner getting his stars). The staff was great, food was great and so was the service. The only note to management would be, if a large party all warring masks comes in and then asks to be seated outside, its most likely for health and safety precautions. The server was masked and commented before reaching into the table for items. But, maybe the assistant manager, she came to the table to help with clearing plates & drinks, unmasked and very uncomfortably close, enough that I could smell her gum flavor……even in 2019 that would have been uncomfortable & unsettling. It wasn’t a one off either, she oddly leaned and came right back in a few times.

So to best part, we rushed to head out as a crazy family would do. To make it easier, I treated and paid the bill & thought for a millisecond, I don’t remember this place being that expensive and then crazy family happens again, we get in the car. Now, 3 hours away and home, I pull the receipt out of my pocket and see that every item was charged twice($80+over charged). The restaurant was closed and now I’m like great, thinking about all the info and details to get this straight. The next day, not looking forward to an argument or banging my head against the wall conversation, I call the number on the receipt and it goes to a gentleman & his wife in the background, who sounds like he’s in his home kitchen preparing food. I thought I had the wrong number…. Forgive me, I think his name was Vinny. He listens to my explanation and says I’ll get right on it and we’ll take care of it. I’m like, ya right let’s see how this goes… within the hour he calls me back and apologized for the mistake and says the CC card has been refunded! Not an ounce of blame or excuses, just straight up took care of it. Hard to find peeps like that today in our world. Props to them and this business. His style and getter done, shows in his...
