Foxtail review
On Thursday 11/9 my husband, our daughter and I stopped at this foxtail location for a morning pick me up (because I love foxtail coffee) typically I stay away from This location because as minorities we never feel welcomed . Today I guess you can say was the icing on the cake for my theory . It was very busy I will give them That much but walking in and being the only minorities we placed our order, I ordered the peppermint mocha latte my husband the sugar cookie latte and our daughter got Cookie Monster ice cream . A line of people behind us we went off to the side and waited the gentleman working got our daughter her ice cream and after about 20 minutes of waiting I started realizing customers that ordered after us were receiving their coffee before so I went to the cash register but to the side so I wouldn’t get in the way of the line and called one of the ladies working she looked at me and then looked away and continued talking to her coworker, then I called her again and brushing me off she said one minute . She comes over to me and I let her know I saw her look my way the first time I wasn’t sure why she ignored me . I explained to her we haven’t received our coffees and we’ve been waiting for a while she then asked me name went to look for our ticket and it magically disappeared . Imagine the only minorities in the establishment and our ticket is lost . Maybe it’s a reach but I really don’t know considering the being ignored at first and overall never feeling comfortable coming into this particular location . To top it off we received our coffees and they didn’t taste how they normally do . So we paid $23 (because we also tipped) for horrible tasting coffee and horrible service . I will never return to this locations again . I will either take a drive to colonial or the ymca at...
Read more5/5 stars!! The atmosphere of this place feels awesome. All of the baristas are more than friendly; especially Steph! The food; such as the croissants and other breakfast sandwiches are better than the things you'd get at McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts. They also have some great item called the Chocolate Croissant which could be another reason FoxTail is well known in the Central Florida area. Other food items include Banana Bread, Cookies, Donuts, other flavor croissants. Their hot sauce; even though I don't like hot things, is the best hot sauce I've had. (I just noticed I have 91 words already and I haven't even got into the drinks yet! But I saved the best for last!) The drinks, such as the Raspberry Rose Tea, is a must get. They also let you mix the teas and even add in syrups, or others like Chai or Matcha. Furthermore, they also have the specialities board, their best ones so far have included the Raspberry Dream which was Raspberry Rose with the hibiscus sweetener, Sunset Orange which was the Lavender Coconut and Blood orange. This is the best coffee shop that you can come to in the Orlando area! It makes you want to come every single day. If you haven't stepped into a Foxtail, this is a location to come to. This location has an atmosphere that the other Foxtail locations do not have. I pass like 5 different Foxtails just to come to this one cause the other ones just don't have the same atmosphere that this one...
Read moreConveniently located in Dr.Phillips, this coffee shop has a stylish and cozy ambience. Their products displayed in the cafe are eye-pleasing. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into creating their brand.
However, being positioned as a specialty coffee shop, this Foxtail location delivers subpar coffee (which costs around $5 for a cup on average). At the time we were there, espresso tasted too bitter. A bit of bitterness elevates the flavor of coffee, but too much bitterness implies that espresso was over extracted. Typically a specialty coffee shop has a barista checking the quality of coffee every morning so it was surprising that the espresso was too off-balanced. Redialing in espresso and rechecking the espresso machine would be highly recommended.
At this location you can see baristas making espresso drinks. While observing baristas pulling shots and assembling drinks, we noticed that they were not purging steam wands. Purging the steam wand before and after steaming milk can help keep it clean, prevent bacterial buildup, and ultimately improve the taste of coffee. While this place gets high volume of traffic, we still think it will be good to keep the espresso station clean (especially around where used coffee grinds are disposed).
Foxtail definitely has its identity, but we would like to see much better quality control that matches...
