Recently, I had the worst dining experience at Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant that I just have to talk about. I was all set to order their whole fish fry and a chicken dish, but was told the fish fry wasn’t available anymore. The staff suggested the Valerum Meen Fry instead, assuring me it was quite similar.

Wanting to double-check, I called again to see if it was indeed similar to a whole fish and if I could bypass their confusing online system by ordering over the phone. Unfortunately, I was nudged towards their online platform, which turned out to be a bit of a maze, leading me straight to DoorDash where the prices were higher than on the restaurant's own website—no heads up given.

Expecting a hearty meal, we ended up with an appetizer-sized, sadly burnt dish that hardly justified the $20 price tag. After driving 25 minutes with my kids in tow, this was a letdown. When I expressed my concerns, the staff's lack of interest in rectifying or even acknowledging the mix-up was really disappointing.

The whole experience left a sour taste, not just from the food but from the service too. It definitely made me rethink returning or recommending the place, which is a shame because it could have been a lovely family outing. And even though sometimes, the experience might not live up to the expectations, there was no sign of remorse from the...

Visited Anjappar Restaurant recently and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and service. The Lamb Biriyani was a standout dish; it was soft, perfectly cooked, and literally melted in my mouth. The amount of spice was just right, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that are hard to find outside of India. They were also very accommodating to special requests for sides, and I decided to go for the Netli (anchovy fry) - a choice I didn't regret. It transported me back to Kerala, India, with its spot-on flavor and authenticity.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the presentation of the dishes was also a feast for the eyes. It's clear they take great pride in serving their meals with an extra touch of elegance. Additionally, the service was fast and efficient, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The restaurant itself felt clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

I highly recommend Anjappar Restaurant to anyone looking to savor authentic South Indian cuisine. Their attention to detail, from the quality of ingredients to the presentation and service, makes it a must-visit spot for...

Over the course of three consecutive days, I embarked on a culinary adventure, exploring the vast array of offerings at Anjappar. From their tantalizing thalis to the aromatic biryanis and the exquisite Madurai chicken, every bite was a symphony of flavors that left an indelible mark on my palate.

What sets Anjappar apart is its commitment to authenticity. The chefs seem to have mastered the art of recreating the essence of traditional Indian cuisine. The dishes not only tasted authentic but also exuded a homely touch that made the dining experience truly special.

The staff at Anjappar played a significant role in making our visits memorable. Their pleasant demeanor and accommodating nature added to the overall warmth of the place. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the team went above and beyond to ensure that every diner felt attended to and valued.

As a piece of advice for fellow food enthusiasts, it's prudent to avoid peak hours to fully savor the Anjappar experience. The restaurant tends to get crowded, a testament to its popularity, and choosing a quieter time ensures a more relaxed and enjoyable...

Great new addition to South Indian food options in East Bay area. Anjappar is as authentic as it can get in the USA. The wait times can be longer so plan ahead. This seems to be a smaller location compared to their other branch. Once seated though, food arrives at youd table fast enough. We had chicken lollipops which were tender and juicy. The Crab kotthu parotta was a pleasant surprise as we were expecting crab meat mixed in kotthu but we got whole fried crab sitting on top of the plate. That was fun. The Biryani they serve is not the Basmati Dum one but seeraga rice. The portion was huge and sufficient for two. Taste was on the milder spicy side but went well with the salan. Definitely will visit again as there are quite a few menu options we are yet to try.

Good restaurant in Dublin for some South Indian(tamilnadu special) food. We have tried Anjappar Dublin few times(5+ times I guess), mainly take out. So far out favorite is Chicken Kizhi Parotta. We really liked the flavor and taste mixed when the parotta soaked in chicken curry. Second favorite is seraga samba mutton biriyani. Sometimes really good, sometimes not really good(Quantity was not enough sometimes/ you will get few 5-6 bone mutton pieces ), but sometimes it will be really good. It would be great if you can maintain consistency. We didn’t liked Chennai chicken dum biriyani, tried two times and not really good (quantity was ok). Overall a good south India restaurant with some good food choices. I would recommend Kizhi Parotta to others.
