Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Dublin

This will be my last trip to Applebee's in Dublin. This is about as bad a service as I have received in years.

We asked for water when we sat down and then an additional three times. No water.

Our appetizer plate of boneless wings arrived, and we had to ask for flatware. I assumed they would be bringing us small plates to eat these, but that didn't happen.

My wife asked the server to hold the mayo on her hamburger. The hamburger arrived slathered with mayo.

I got up and took the plate over to the bar, where I was greeted by the manager. She asked if there was a problem, and I said, "Yes, nothing is going right here tonight." I explained everything. They redid my wife's burger.

Service remains next to nonexistent.

Our check came, and I had to remind the server that the drinks were not discounted for happy hour. I noticed my wife's hamburger was comped but then added back on to the ticket.

Several tables around us were left unbussed the entire time we were sitting there. The server never offered to take our plates away after we were finished.

In my 60-plus years of dining out, this dining experience rates right up there as being one of the worst.

Understand, I rarely speak out if one or two things go wrong with a meal. I've never picked up a plate and taken it back towards the kitchen.

Most of my Google restaurant reviews are 4 or 5 stars. My expectations are low.

It was the preponderance of all of the above and some unmentioned items that warranted this one-star rating.

We were a party of 5, we got there around 7pm and less than half the tables were occupied but we ended up waiting for 11mins until a table was cleaned.... i counted 6 empty tables that were uncleared after customers left. Our waitress came with 2 drinks after taking out order and we didnt see her again until 20mins later when our apps came (which was messed up). About 5 mins later we got our entrees and some of us got refills. Looked over twice to see her counting her tips at the register and we simply couldnt get her attention.... the rest didnt get refils until AFTER we had finished eating and she brough the check... Just terrible! However, i observed that the waitress who served a couple tables infront of us constantly rotated between her tables and serviced them quite well.

My pasta was undercooked and burnt.... definitely had Very Little cheese, barely noticeable but yet it was suppose to be the 4 cheese mac and cheese! but the chicken was very flavourful. My husband's meal was bland but ok. My daughter's meal came with 2 sides and she requested extra serving of fries... it was about the same as 1 serving compared to my son's 1 serving of fries.

This is the second bad experience here so im very doubtful that i will return.

11/2017 Experience here for my third trip service was exceptional. Food tasted better too but still fell...

I went to the location in Dublin on Wednesday night around 9:00 p.m. the hostess set us down and we waited for a waitress while the waitress came over we ordered our drinks and ordered an appetizer well we got her appetizers and never got our drinks so I got a hold of the hostess again to find out a about where our waitress was and our drinks the waitress finally came back and brought us our drinks which was nothing but carbonation and she kind of caught an attitude when we told her we wanted something else because they were carbonation well she brings back her new drinks so we sat there for another 30 minutes waiting for her to come back and take her order she never showed up so finally I got tired of sitting there and waiting and waiting and waiting I've never in my life had this kind of service from any restaurant finally I got a hold of a member of the management and explain to them what was going on and all the member management could save us well if I had known that you needed help I could have waited on you I'll be more than glad to take your order now hell no I haven't been sitting here over an hour and not even getting acknowledged that I'm even sitting here people that came in after I did had done got their food order and brought to them and I'm still sitting there this will be a place that I will not go...
