Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in Dublin

Very bad service. I asked for a mocha with microphone milk but instead I got a cold mocha with flat milk. I had to asked them to remake the mocha again and to make sure that they make it with microphone milk but again I got it with the flat milk and this time it was very hot that I burned my mouth. I had to wait for a long time for the mocha to be able to drink it. Also, my wife had a green tea macha with cinnamon flavor, so I had to call back to explain the bad experience. The woman who answered the telephone was rude. When I was explaining about the green tea she didnt answer the phone anymore. I had to walk back to peet's store and asked for the manager but there was only a supervisor. Also, my wife drank the green tea matcha with lots of ice. Tylor, the supervisor who took the order knew my wife asked for a green tea matcha with little ice but she remake it with lots of ice. I told her that we didn't get what we asked for and instead of trying to find out what happened she became aggressive and responded by saying, " I have been working for 10 years, dude" my name is not dude. If I go to peet's coffee and not 7-11 is because they know how to prepare a good cup of coffee. She was mad that I asked for the right drinks. After all I paid for good coffee and I have the right to get it. She has not right to decide how my wife and me drink the coffee. If she doesn't like to provide good service she shouldn't be working at peet's coffee. For many years I have been coming to this location because I like their good service and coffee. I generally like Peet's and it is my favorite coffee chain. This location can be a bit hard to get to, rarely has open places to sit, and often has a line, a week ago something happened that really rocketed it up in my opinion as a business.

So many places are so tied to technology that they can't function without it. I've been turned away from places that can't do any business if the computer doesn't work, or will only take cash when the register is down. It drives me nuts, basic math for making change and filling out a paper credit card slip is easy.

So, how does that relate to Peet's? Well two weeks ago I went in early on a Sunday to get my usual cappuccino and a thermos of coffee for my pop who was working at the Good Guys car show. I arrived to find the line all the way to the far door, not a great sign but I'll wait in the line here rather than going to the drive-through coffee hut across 580. The computers were down and this was slowing the service, but they were doing great even with the delays.

One person was walking the line and taking orders on a sticky pad and then running them up to the barista so the drinks would keep flowing. Each of the register locations had a staffer taking payment, and they even still took credit cards using the old manual swipe machines. Great coffee and pastries, I usually have a high regard for the staff at Peet's, but I've rated it at 3 stars because the customer service ranges from excellent to just plain rude, depending on who is making the drinks and coffee that day. On Sunday 9th July between 11AM and 1230PM I saw the person making the coffee being very rude to a customer. There were over 8 drinks randomly placed on the ready counter, no names on the cups. The lady asked if one of the drinks was hers, the barrista said "I don't know I didn't make it" and then just turned her back on the customer and offered no further help. Being a manager of a bar, I found that to be unacceptable, rude behaviour. Hopefully one bad apple in what I've found to be a friendly, helpful team.

13 May 2018 Upgraded my rating to four stars. I have been coming here regularly since my last review. I can safely say that the customer service and range of coffees is excellent. So much so, that although I live closer to the other coffeehouse chain, I always come to Peets. I love the range of pastries and sandwiches and the new coffee combinations such as the Golden Latte are superb. I recommend this place to anyone who'll listen.
