Fat Kid's Sports Bar — Restaurant in DuBois

I'm rating three stars because the food is always good and timely. However, our service was quite poor tonight.

Honestly, I don't know if it was a rough day or not for our waitress. But service was very, very poor. And it's a shame, because I've never had this bad of service when coming here. Maybe, it's because we had a different waitress than usual? I'm honestly not sure. (However, our usual waitress was serving two large parties as well as quite a few other tables.)

Our waitress tonight brought the wrong beer, twice. (Even after we had asked for what was originally ordered.) She rarely came to our table to check on us, or get our orders. (Even after I had told her we were ready to order.) She brought out my husband's drink and left. Leaving us to wait again, when we were already ready to order. After we ordered, and the food came out, she had forgotten the dressing, which is no big deal. But she didn't come back to check on us again for awhile, so we had to ask our usual waitress for dressings and a box. (Our food was cold at this point.) We were just ready to leave, so we asked for our check as well.

To whoever our waitress was, I hope your night gets better. But please, next time, treat your customers a bit better, because honestly at the end of the day your problems should not affect your customers or service. (Speaking bartender to bartender here.)

I was first introduced to this bar because of my friend Patricia when we were out for a ladies night. I hadn't eaten and she recommended the Philly Cheese Steak. I wasn't familiar with the Philly Cheese Steak as I originate from England. I had tried a cheese steak in Philadelphia from a famous place and it didn't rock my boat, but wow, on wow, this sandwich blew me away, so much so that when Pat wanted to share it with me I was really hesistant to share as I just wanted it all to myself! I have been back a few times since and taken my family with me who seem to love the food just as much as I do.

On one occasion I decided to try something different, I opted for a burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten, it was fresh, juicy, hot and delicious. I must admit I waited quite a while for my burger, but it was worth the wait. I would rather wait for something amazing than something mediocre, I don't do mediocre especially when it comes to food.

As for the prices I think they are also very reasonable. I would pay double for the food, that is how good it is, definately...

I love Fat Kids..however it only gets a 4 star for a few reasons..I did not get what I ordered..I had asked for chicken cheesesteak salad but was brought a grilled chicken salad..mind you it was very good but not what I wanted..I did not say anything but ate it because we needed to be at an appointment..also noticed the size of the salad was only average..the serving size on their dishes were always large..we always had to bring food home(I never put dressing on my salad butt dip each bite into the dressing that way leftovers don't get soggy)..the wings as usual were excellently cooked and delicious but again the wing sizes seemed on the small side..knowing what the quantity and quality of the food is at this place I was a little disappointed..our waitress was super nice but could have been more attentive to refilling our drinks..I don't know if she miss heard what I had ordered or if the cook got ot wrong..not a big deal to some but when I go to Fat Kids I know what I want..will we go back?..of course we will but I will make sure to check our order before it goes to...
