Marco's Italian & American Foods — Restaurant in Dubuque

My husband and our 3 kids (5, 8, 10) came for supper at 6:30. They sat us in the basement so we weren't right by the door. The basement was freezing but she said she turned the heat up. No one ever took their coat off. We tried to order a grilled cheese but they were out of grilled cheese. After we ordered for the kids. My husband ordered his meal and I tried to order mine. The waitress told me that the ravioli is frozen but the (whatever my husband got) was homemade and kind of the same idea. So i said ok, do that. After waiting an HOUR, the waitress came back and said they could probably do one of the dishes we ordered but someone else also ordered one to go so there wouldn't be enough for both my husband and I to have it... I picked something else but honestly was ready to leave at that point, knowing we just sat for an hour and our pasta isnt done, the kids breaded shimp, chicken bites, fries and mashed potatoes arent done. For the next half hour, the kids who had really been so good waiting had begun complaining as it was now almost 8 and they are hungry, cold and tired. So after an hour and a half of waiting, we asked for our bill for our drinks. The waitress went back up and checked on the food again, came back down and said it would be 10 minutes and offered to pay for our drinks. Unfortunately, the quality of service and the amount of time already spent... the thought of the food was not even appealing and I couldn't ask my kids to continue to sit in a freezing...

The food was good but it took over 1.5 hours to get our food. We waited for an hour and a half before our two pizzas and two kids meals came. I talked to manangemt after our meal and they made it very clear that not being able to serve the food in a reasonable time frame was not their fault and that the management had no interest in working with customers to ensure they left satisfied. I was also told by management that our food came faster than many patrons that night so apparently some people waited even longer. I was extremely unsatisfied with this visit and the staff did not seem to see that as a problem. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based upon the service and attitude of the staff and I would have given it zero...

dont understand why this restaurant is rated so well... I have eaten there twice now and both times i was extremely disappointed. First time i decided to have a small 1 topping and some calamari delivered. It took an hour, cost me 22$, and was just awful. The calamari was way to small for the price and lacking in any kind of flavor save for whatever residue was left in the grease. The pizza literally tough to eat, had barely any toppings or sauce. Tasted like i was eating a frozen pizza left on the counter for a day. 2nd time, after reading all the happy reviews, was basic spaghetti. Literally tasted like what i make on the stove with ragu sauce.. Will never order again considering there are so many other places that put this...
