Noonan's Tap — Restaurant in Dubuque

So disappointed... Burgers are small. Supposed to be 1/2 lb burger and no way they were even a 1/3 lb. They literally only were half the size of their buns and as thin as a McDonald's hamburger. They were way over cooked and dry. I got 4 mushrooms on my mushroom and swiss. My daughter got 5 mushrooms. Canned mushrooms at that. Ordered deep fried mushrooms and got 8 no bigger than a nickel. They were not fried either. Not sure what they did to cook them. The breading was falling off being dry like. However the flavor was good of the 4 I had as I shared them with my child.

Will never order from there again. $30 literally in the garbage as long as I get my money back from the cheese nuggets that...

We were staying at an airbnb roughly 1/2 miles from Noonans so "dive bars near me" brought this one up. We stopped in around 5:00 pm on a Friday and it was obvious we were not regulars, however, we were greeted by the bartender and chatted up by a couple of regulars. The food and prices were good, and the service was friendly. There isn't space for an out of town couple (definitely not a family) to really feel comfortable. Seating is limited. Noonan's is a tight space with a tight knit group of patrons singing along with the jukebox. I could see this as a fun stop on a night in downtown Dubuque if you're interested in being really really close with local...
