Dang, I really wanted this restaurant to be a winning option...sadly it was not good at all... 3 stars because of Location and the Staff was polite. The Food was 1 Star...I ordered a variety of items to try...Szechuan Wontons, Egg Drop Soup, Szechuan Shrimp, & Shrimp Basil Frid rice.
I'm not a trained chef but I can make a variety dishes well including some Asian inspired dishes including fried Rice. The first thing that was evident was not much was fresh made or even recently made.
The Fried rice was old as were the meats in it with the exception of the shrimp which are easy enough to cook quickly and blend in. The "Wontons" were aweful...I would have been better off grabbing some out of the freezer section from Trader Joe's warming and serving. The "Steam" rice was hard as pebbles and should have been thrown out the day before.
The soup wasn't bad but the cripsy wonton strips were stale and ruined the soup. The Szechuan Shrimp was decent but the bed of mixed peas, carrots and onions was definitely from frozen food section of a local grocery store And ruin the dish because how hard is it really to chop some fresh carrots and onions. The Spicy dishes were almost to spicy to be edible...The last point I will share is it all worked as a laxative. I ended up tossing the majority in the trash. Needless to say I will continue to seek Asia Food options in the area but won't...
Read moreWe had The Most delightful waitress! What a joy and blessing she was! We were especially hungry having delayed lunch because of dental appointments. The children were split as to where to eat, but our appointments ran so long that our other choice was negated. So, when we arrived, we had a grumpy person. This waitress sparkled. She went out of her way to answer all our questions, cheer the children, make each person feel special, and quickly bring delicious food. The spicy seafood tomato soup was Outstanding! Absolutely perfect on a blustery Spring day. Light, warm and spicy.. aromatic with basil and tomato soup. Mmm! The Bento boxes were beautiful! Large, lacquered black and red boxes brimming with ginger salad, a spring roll, rice, and the entry. Fantastic. The mango shrimp sushi wafted mango and spicy sauce through the room as she set it jauntily in front of us. Oh! What an aroma! Each dish was as described and tasted SO good! Our wonderful waitress even went next door to Mochinut to get bobas for our grumps! Wow! Everything was wonderful and better than anticipated! Thank you for turning the day around and cheering the group after such a long day of sitting. If I could give the waitress more stars, I would. Everything was outstanding, and she was...
Read moreWe LOVE ❤Red Ginger! One of my favorite Thai spots in Gwinnett to eat real sushi at! You can get it cooked or raw and the sushi guru is there making your rolls fresh! On Saturday and Sunday they have half off certain sushi! We practically lived here for the past 4 weeks while we were in between moves and couldn't cook because we were either packing or unpacking. The staff is all amazing, Maggie (the manager) is amazing and I enjoy her staff, they are all very personable and go out of their ways to accommodate your tastes. We've brought 2 sets of different friend's to Red Ginger and both sets have enjoyed it so much ANF they've come back several times without us😀. There's nothing on the menu that we haven't tried that we didn't enjoy. They have tons of seafood dishes that are cooked fresh & veggies and they have mock meat & tofu so they can accomodate those who are Vegans. Last time I ordered sautéed Bok Choy with my pineapple seafood rice❤ Time before that I ordered the cooked sushi rolls! Enjoy the pictures but go visit them you won't be...
