Diamond Jim's Gas Grill — Restaurant in Dundee Township

First and last time here.

Food-ok Service-bad Restaurant itself-poor

To start, it was too hot a day to eat outside so we decided to go inside. Upon entering we were hit with a semi-sewage/sauna smell and absolutely no relief from the hot day. It was just as hot and humid inside as it was outside. I was too afraid to ask what the smell was and thought maybe it was just me, but our daughter made it clear it wasnt in my head by covering her nose saying how stinky it was and saying she wanted to leave. By this time we were adressed by one of the 3 chatterbox waitresses in the corner. We would have been her only customers since the only other person there was sitting at the bar. It took about 10 mins for her to come and take our order, she was too busy chatting with the other girls. Finally she came. My husband and i ordered the burger with cheddar, medium (i split with my daughter) and mozz sticks. I got the tots as a side and my husband the potato salad. The side of tots came plentiful and were about as good as tator tots are, nice and crunchy and salty. But it wasnt until she gave us the burgers that she clarified that they were made with white cheddar.. shouldnt that have been clarified when ordering? (Because if i would have known that i would have gotten another type.) The burger couldn't have been any more charred and well done than it was.. come on.. :/ None of this could have been addressed since the girl didnt come back until the end of the meal. Since I don't trust sending my food back I give myself 2 options. Send it back and eat nothing or just suck it up, eat it and just don't go back. I opted for the 2nd option. All in all if a restaurant is going to flaunt that they have burgers, they should at least be able to cook them properly. Overall- this dinner out was dissappointing overall and i have no...

My husband and I used to go a lot to this place and i liked it but ownership/management apparently changed and last night was the last time I will be in this place. My parents and sister visiting from another country, my husband, 2 kids and I came to this place like 4pm or so looking forward to eat here and have great time but apparently there is no enough chair for 7 of us so my husband asked the other customer that is closeby to unused chair if we can take it and use the chair, after we took the chair the drunk rude manager/staff came to us very aggresive telling us we are making trouble AND other hurtful things and make us feel UNWELCOMED and I got really scared that i ran out and calling my husband and my whole family to leave the place because i heard the other person saying "go back to your country" (i felt this drunk manager and his friends will hurt us). My husband continue talking to the rude drunk manager/staff and asked why is he treating us that way and after couple minutes of talking between my husband and the drunk manager/staff, the drunk manager/staff came to me and apologized for his rude behavior. I accepted his apology but never i will eat in this place again ever because of these racist drunk people who...

Decided to go out to dinner and we picked Diamond Jim's. we were excited because we never been there . when we did get there, there is no ramp to get in the door my wife has to use a walker so it is very difficult for her to walk up stairs. we got up the stairs and in the building and what do we see all pub height tables that are very difficult to sit on for her but we managed. the server was very attentive. we had the pierogi entree and i had the patty melt the food was okay not great just okay. i understand the place is a bar that serves food but when we were there to girls left from the bar returned with bags of food from another establishment and started eating it at the bar I think that would send a bad message . If they allow that kind of thing the bartender should have asked them to sit at a table in the back of the bar to eat their food. probably will not be going back because it is not very...
