I came here with a couple friends about a month ago on a Tuesday night and it happened to be their trivia night. And we ended up joining in on the fun.
The place is huge! The main room has a long bar and was full. We were seated in a room across from the bar. It was also huge and I think they occasionally had live music in that room. Our server was attentive and was constantly refilling our drinks. However, once we finished eating, we never saw our server again. Not even to to fill up water. As soon as the trivia ended, our server resurfaced and hovered while we settled our bill. Weird, right?
We were seated in a booth. Just three of us. It could have easily held six people.
So, someone comes by and says we're playing trivia. It's on the app and he shows us the app and tells us how to set it up.
This is all before we order drinks. It's all about the trivia. I have no idea where the other teams were as the place was ginormous.
We were there for our burger club. Between the three of us, we ordered the Tavern burger and the 'Merica burger. They were cooked very well, very flavorful. The buns held up, cheese melted well and fries crispy, but not too crispy. Everything was good...
Except that damn trivia game. It took forever. A simple trivia game that should have last maybe 45 minutes dragged on for nearly two hours. It was insane how slow it was. And no one wanted to leave? And I have no idea why as the prize was like a $25 gift card. It was lame.
I'll definitely return to try some of their other food, but I'll avoid their damn...
Read moreGood food. Nice atmosphere. Good wait staff. Everything we have eaten here has been good quality and fresh. Al Pastor tacos and French fries here are recommended as they are very good, while some other items like the farmhouse burger are masterfully constructed but come to the table in need of one liquid condiment to complete its perfection (not a bad thing, i just recommend adding a light layer of bbq sauce to make it exceptional or maybe a light mayo or steak sauce. Whatever your preference on burgers that adds moisture to each bite.). The wings here are just ok, I don't recommend them. They are overpriced and while they do offer both sauces and dry rubs (which I find myself overjoyed to find a good variety of dry rub wings anywhere usually), the dry rub spices cover the wings very lightly and the spices themselves were nothing short of bland. My friends and I found them in need of heaps more volume of spice plus i would recommend still even adding salt as well to satisfy... the wing crispiness of the dry rub variety is spot on though. Some of the menu items are fun to read, but I would never dare to order (like a burger with 6 patties and the special sauce is simple called Animal Sauce). With that said, I believe there are many amazing dishes on the menu to delight your taste buds with. The bar drinks and daily specials can be inspiring. You can tell the chef here truly cares about creating unique and specialized food that is absolutely...
Read moreBeen here twice: first when it was relatively new 4 years ago, and more recently--last night. Service here has been great each visit, the food, not so much. On the first visit, I was served chicken, prepared with a sauce I did not order. Management offered to remove it from my bill, but since I was willing to finish it, I said no. I was given a gift certificate for a return visit, which I subsequently misplaced.
Regarding my visit last night: I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was honestly terrible! I thought it was the sauce being vinegar-forward, that made it taste bad. The smell and taste of vinegar were both strong. I shared a couple bites with my friends to have them confirm. Being hungry, and not knowing any better, I ate nearly all of it. By the time I got to my last bite, my friend suggested I try the chicken by itself, without the bread. It was surprisingly good. The culprit: SPOILED BREAD. I didn't know spoiled bread tasted of vinegar. I discovered this moments ago (the morning after) googling spoiled bread. I don't even know how a restaurant that makes a lot of burgers/sandwiches has brioche buns long enough for them sour. This is very...
