Charley's Philly Steaks — Restaurant in Dunedin

Today, I went to this restaurant for the first and last time. I went through the drive-thru for a late lunch for me and my mom. This restaurant is a few miles from my parents and we always pass by and say we got to try it. We were excited for today's lunch but our excitement was soon replaced by disappointment.

I want to start by saying the gentleman working the drive-thru was very nice and the service was great. The food, however, was very disappointing.

I got a regular Chicken Philly and my mom got a regular Old School Cheesesteak. I get the sandwiches home and could not believe my eyes! My Chicken Philly had barely any meat on it! It was all bread with a very thin, fragmented layer of extremely diced meat with some melted cheese on it. THERE WAS LITERALLY NO MEAT. The lettuce was half green, half semi-brown. The tomatoes and pickles seemed fresh. So basically for $9 bucks I got a bread sandwich. I feel ripped off!! I was starving and was left with no lunch because who wants to eat a bread sandwich?? I threw it out after a couple of bites. My mom's Old School had more meat than mine, but she said it was just ok. Nothing special.

I should have taken a picture of this BS, but I was so angry and wasn't thinking about doing a review at the time.

Beware that the subs they make look nothing like what is advertised.

I’ve been going to the food court in the mall for a long time now just to eat at Charley’s. Usually looking forward to the chicken teriyaki Philly cheese. I was excited to know an independent store location had opened nearby.

The lobby was super clean, service was quick and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning customers.

While entering the store, an unruly customer was causing a scene and raising his voice. From what I gathered, he came here in a rush and expected the staff to rush to accommodate his tight schedule. The staff was handling this perfectly by reassuring the customer politely that his food was being made and would be done shortly. He was yelling to have a refund and they met his demands and he left.

We were next in line to order and the manager was apologizing for the commotion. I’m here to say that I’ve worked years in food service and customer service and you handled it so well. Never getting upset or raising your...

Charley’s never disappoints. My Father and I decided to get a quick lunch at Charley’s. We had decided to go through the drive thru because of running errands and the gentleman behind the window was so nice and accommodating. We ordered the Chicken Philly and California Philly with an order of large fries. I had asked the gentleman if a small would be enough for two people and he said get the large. Which I’m glad we did. Everything was so fresh, hot and tasty. The bread was excellent that the sandwich came on. It melted in your mouth and had a wonderful flavor to it. I love my bread. So that was a plus for me. When proceeding to pay, the nice man (who I think is the owner) gave a coupon for free fries with the purchase of a coke. For our next visit. Folks do yourself a favor and try them out.
