North Tavern / discount liquor store. — Restaurant in Dunellen

If you are in the clique you get treated well here. If not, you are just another patron greeted with luke warm enthusiasm. Used to drink here but got tired of being treated like 2nd class citizen because I wasnt in the clique. Ted the Shoprite manager, Mickey and Frank the landscapers, the beer-bellyed iron worker (well he wears T-shirts proclaiming his iron worker pedigree but from the looks of him he hasnt walked any iron planks in a long time, just consuming donuts at the union hall, drinkin bud long necks and votin Democrat like a good union bobblehead) and his wife, Rich and Matt the bartenders, two real fat guys whos names I missed and a few others fill out the clique and get treated very well. I stopped in a while back to pick up a six pack ( they have an adjacent liquor store that connects to the bar). There was no "where ya been?" They dont care because Im not part of...

It’s good local. No DJ but a jukebox that cheap. No bar food but you can bring outside food. Liz the bartender is GREAT. Good spot to pregame or be lowkey for the night....

Full remodel. Ever expanding carry-out store, with an already great selection. Very knowledgeable employees. Reasonable prices....
