Absolutely worth the 40-minute drive every time! The Puerto Rican soul food at this truck is nothing short of amazing. Everything is made fresh, and you can truly taste the love in every bite. My personal favorites are the mac and cheese, the garlic fried chicken, and the whiting — comfort food at its finest. My children’s new found love at the truck are the jerk chicken empanadas!
We’re a family of six, and every visit feels like coming home. The meals are hearty, flavorful, and always satisfying. What makes it even better are the wonderful people behind the window. Zina and Ed, the owners, are genuinely kind and welcoming. And Josh, who works the window, is always so sweet and patient — a real gem.
We love that it’s family-owned and operated. You can feel the pride and care in everything they do. If you're thinking about stopping by — do it. You...
Read moreStaff is really nice. They recommended the empanadas, specifically the jerk chicken and beef & cheese, so I got both. Both were really good and had a very good amount of filling. He also asked if this was my first time here - it was, so he gave me a free side of spanish rice. Flavor-wise, the spanish rice was the best I've ever had; texture wise, it was a bit on the al dente side. Definitely will return if I'm in the area. Note: I'd recommend parking in the Dunellen Public Library. You can park in the train station lot, but there's less parking there and you'll need to step over a very short stone barrier that separates the train station's lot from the library's. Also, I'd recommend checking the truck's opening hours before going as when I checked, they were closed on Mondays...
Read morePros.. just discovered this place on doordash and four of us thought the food was INCREDIBLE. 2 Stars because we've been craving this food since we ordered and 1. They stopped delivery on food order platforms. 2. Online says they're open Sun 12-5. Called all day to verify their hours and no answer. Went to their online listed address to pick up food and they weren't there. Finally someone picked up at 4:30 and said, "we're at a private event in Monmouth junction." They have an Instagram page - why not tell your customers if you're going to be closed? No recent updates or activity on IG... no way to see updated menu. No website..so if you're reliant on social media, then USE it. It's like chasing a unicorn. No matter how good your food is, you'll go out of business if you ghost...
