From the moment my girlfriend and I walked into this place it was busy. Very busy. The hostess said it would be at least an hour wait. We took this as a good sign.
They had a bar so we decided to grab the two open seats and order a drink while we waited for our table. The bartender asked us if we'd like a menu to order an appetizer. We said not just yet (we had an hour just until we got a table). But my girlfriend decided she was hungry and could use a snack soon. The next time the bartender came near I asked him if we could see the menu now - he blatantly ignored me, did several more tasks, passed out menus TWO more times before he came back with one for us. He made it clear we were being punished for our iniquities.
We ordered an appetizer - it was an enormous basket of fried food. It tasted just as any deep fried food would - no better - no worse.
We decided to just remain at the bar to order our entrees. I walked over to the hostess and told her she could cross our names off - that we would be staying at the bar to eat. When we finally got the bartenders attention again (the bar is small and you can easily talk across it) we attempted to order our food. He proceeded to scold us in the Loading Dock Etiquette. He told us that there is a wait to be seated at the bar just as there is for tables. But since we were there already we might as well stay. Are you kidding me? First of all I have never seen a restaurant in all my life that you are not allowed to wait at the bar for your name to be called to a table. And if this is the case why did he wait until after drinks and appetizers but before meals to inform us? And why is there no sign stating this?
My steak tasted like it came out of a freezer. My girlfriend ordered the vegetable pasta Alfredo - it was HUGE and OBVIOUSLY FROZEN. It was clearly something like Birdseye Frozen Steamer Microwave bags. YUCK.
Basket of fried fat, four absolute & tonics, one steak and one steamer microwave bag - our total came to $150 before tip!!!
Seriously, people wait out the door to be over charged for terrible service and worse food. I just do not get it.
Here is a tip: smaller portions and balance the cost into quality food &...
Read moreMeh...just an average experience. We were in the area after purchasing a vehicle nearby and decided to give the loading dock a try based on several recommendations and discovered it was nothing special or out of the ordinary. The place was packed with several large groups waiting, but we were immediately seated. The first thing you notice upon entering is the dark atmosphere and overwhelming smell of dirty black carpeting. Whoever chose the dark carpeting should be fired on the spot, it shows all of the crumbs of food dropped and crushed into the nape, it's most unsanitary to have carpeting in a restaurant. The menu is vast but my husband settled on a BBQ burger and I chose the French Dip. Both were served with a mound of French fries straight from the freezer. I hate frozen potatoes and other such shortcuts. The French Dip was served on a huge chibatta roll which I could not eat, the roll came right out of the bag, cold and dry which could have been spruced up with toasting or grilling. The little bit of meat on the sandwich was tough and lacked much flavor. Plus, the menu said caramelized onions were on the sandwich but they were not caramelized, just limp onions. I left the huge bun and only ate the meat. My husband's burger was yet another freezer item and not a fresh, hand made burger. A restaurant should not specialize in burgers or sandwiches, then use frozen items. Neither of us ate the French fries and have no intention of going back. Try at...
Read moreAs an initial experience, definitely not a bad take, just nothing standout. Ordered their pierogis, deep fried pickle spears, and the ham and swiss burger. Pierogis are a soft spot for me, I'm always a sucker for them, and these were totally great. Pickle spears, the coating flaked off, and an experience to compare it to is an onion ring that slides out of its coating, leaving you with just the batter. Not the best experience.
For the burger, it was fine. Not seasoned at all, but the ham and swiss carried it. Salted the tomato myself on the sandwich, which helped, but overall pretty bland. Came with fries to order, which were also pretty bland. A damn shame, since it seemed they were made in-house.
Service is what you'd expect, pretty on point, but personally experienced those moments of being asked how the food is mid-chew, and before I could swallow and answer they were already gone. Kind of an awkward experience since it happened more than twice. Absolutely kind staff, but more seemed to be going through the motions than legitimately going for gold.
I can see myself coming again and trying something different, but I can definitely say to stay away from the burgers. Hopefully they prepare other foods better, because that burger was as plain and tasteless as can be. But again to be positive, those pierogis were fantastic. Stuffed to the brim with potato filling. A simple but absolutely...
