Bobby O's — Restaurant in Dupont

UPDATED:* I used to love going to this place. My go-to lunch spot for all of my visiting friends and family. I will preface with MY server was great, he is always kind and courteous when I eat there.

Today I was the only person in the entire restaurant. On the phone with my sister. Ordered food and sat down. Then another couple came in while I was finishing up my food. When a waitress (Lorraine) went to sit someone at the table next to me, I guess they asked to sit elsewhere. I didn’t realize the volume of my phone. Lorraine was INCREDIBLY rude to me shouting at me to turn it down. I apologized and turned the volume down just for her to continue and start going on about how “that’s NOT okay at all, those people were going to sit there but CAN’t with you on the phone” then when someone tried to get her energy down, she proceeded to loudly groan about “that’s rude she shouldn’t even be on the phone in a restaurant.”

I am baffled at the fact she asked me, I kindly obliged; and didn’t realize my volume. And I apologized. But for her to continue on and on to me and talk badly about ME being rude. And not her yelling at me in a room of 5 people. There are ways to communicate to people, and she doesn’t seem to understand that. Even day 1 I’ve always looked past her rude demeanor at the cash register, but today was out of hand.

TLDR; Lorraine is incredibly rude to customers. Unfortunately I can’t bring myself to go back and eat here if she is always there anyways.

Only showing the end result bc we scaveneged this food. We got drinks, dessert, a cheeseteak, fish and chips, and chicken tenders all for $33. Unheard of now a days. Love it here....

So we ordered lunch here yesterday, as you can see in the pictures the food was still raw. Now we called and asked for a replacement meal and were told that they, “will get it there when they can” after almost 2 hours waiting for the food we called back and no one knew what we were talking about. Saying they never said they would replace the meal. So I called again and asked for the manager who said the meal was supposed to be picked up. Never did we discuss picking up the meal, because we were at work and couldn’t leave. When I asked to speak with the owner I was told the manager Clare was a partial owner. This woman was rude and would not let me speak. She told us they would replace the chicken but not the fries, now who wants to eat fries that had bloody chicken sitting on them? You think you would not only want to rectify the situation for any customer when your cook messes up an order, but also make sure the business who orders from you quit frequently was satisfied, especially when every order placed is well over $100. I do not recommend this...

I was told of this place from a friend and decided to give it a shot. I was craving a packed, cheesed up, cheese steak. So I got the 1.5 pound jumbo, and it's HUGE!!! There was barely any cheese, it's that BOXED steak NOT real steak slices( in Philly you find Angus steak slices). They didn't toast the bread so grease made the bread soggy, and it was way light on the fried Onions and mushrooms. To my surprise I paid $20 for bland meat, had no flavor at all and soggy bread. We also ordered appetizers. Calamari was too fishy( other places we have been use a zest, like lime or lemon to balance it out) but we drowned the taste with marinara. Jalepeno's were bland, and not spicy, so it's really a breaded green pepper. Fried veggie app was soggy and coming apart, couldn't even dip the stuff in the ranch dressing it went everywhere. Cheese fries were smothered in wiz, we appreciated that, and decent sized. All in all the people seemed nice at the register, and I know people work hard. Maybe they have other good things, just not going to try. So 1 Star from...
