I typically don’t post negative reviews but after my family’s horrid & humiliating experience yesterday during what was our youngest daughter’s birthday dinner I absolutely want people to know how the staff at this establishment treats customers.
I will say the food was delicious. Our daughter picked this place for her birthday dinner because we’ve been going there as a family since it opened years ago & have always loved the food & never had an issue with service until now. After this experience we will never spend one more dollar here after being treated so poorly.
My husband has terminal brain cancer & has gotten to the point that even with take 3 different anti-convulsant medications daily, he still has regular breakthrough seizures. He rarely leaves the house because of this exact reason but he wanted to give our daughter a memory so we all went & were joined by my mother & sister.
Something was off with our service from the onset. They were rushing us to just side down & order a drink as if the waitstaff was highly pressed for time yet the restaurant wasn’t even half full at the time. We had our 1 yr old grandbaby, my 84 yr old mother & my husband who has difficulty walking steadily with us & it felt like we were clearly annoying them while we each picked a seat & sat down. One of the staff actually said ‘just sit down’. So right from the onset there was a strange vibe that we’ve never experienced before.
I will say, the food was extremely enjoyable & we were glad we went up until near the end of our meal & my husband began to have seizure symptoms. He asked me to please help him to the restroom because his seizures almost always include vomiting & needing to go to the bathroom. We made it to the restroom & my adult son went with him to keep an eye on him. My husband made it to the men’s room then unfortunately, vomited. To make a long story short, his seizures almost always last 15-30 minutes before he can function again. We informed the staff that he unfortunately got sick in the restroom so they could take proper care afterwards.
During this time, we began to pack things up at the table because we knew he’d need to get home following his medical event. As I headed to leave to put some things in our vehicle, the hostess/owner’s wife stopped us & chastised us for him being in the restroom for too long & making a mess. I apologized & explained that my husband has terminal brain cancer & he just had a seizure & we were profoundly sorry. Her response, in front of some of our children, was to smie from ear to ear & double down saying ‘yes but he was in there for so long and made such a BIG mess’. I apologized again & said I’m so sorry, I explained his condition again & asked in jest if I should clean the men’s room.
Well, never in a million years did I think expect that I’d actually be told to clean the men’s room. So I handed my purse & things to two of our daughters with tears in my eyes & as composed as I could marches straight to the men’s room where, my husband & son were already cleaning the mess up because my dear sweetheart of a man, in his condition still was embarrassed about making a mess. I told everyone to leave & truly did as I was instructed by the hostess because because I didn’t want my husband to feel any more ashamed then he already did.
After I cleaned up I returned to the hostess, explained it was cleaned & that we would never return again as she chuckled at me.
I have never been more deflated, upset & treated so lowly in my life. My husband’s seizure could have been so much worse & he could have stayed in the dining room disrupting everyone else or needed an ambulance. We did everything we could to control the situation & be as non disruptive to their establishment as we could yet this is how incredibly poorly they treated someone who is disabled by epilepsy caused by terminal brain cancer.
This was the epitome of lack of human emotion, compassion & decency for someone with a disability & their family. And actually it’s also a profound lack of proper health...

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Wok 'n Hair, a so-called Chinese restaurant that left me questioning my life choices. Let me regale you with the horror show that unfolded during my ill-fated visit.
Noodle Nightmare: As I eagerly slurped my noodles, I discovered an unexpected ingredient: a long, black hair entwined within the strands. Now, I’m no stranger to finding the occasional hair in my food, but this was like unearthing a forgotten relic from a crypt. It was as if the chef had decided to season my noodles with a dash of follicles. Bon appétit, indeed!
Raw Chicken Roulette: The pièce de résistance was the raw chicken sticks. Picture this: pale, gelatinous chunks of poultry masquerading as a delicacy. I hesitated, wondering if I’d accidentally stumbled into a culinary version of “Fear Factor.” Alas, no. These chicken sticks were the real deal—raw, uncooked, and utterly revolting. I half-expected Gordon Ramsay to burst through the kitchen doors, screaming, “This chicken is so raw, it’s still clucking!”
The Lady with the Charm of a Cactus: The lady behind the counter—a woman who seemed to have trained at the School of Surliness—greeted us with all the warmth of a Siberian winter. When we dared to complain about the hair and the chicken sashimi, she shot us a glare that could curdle milk. Her response? A curt, “Go to another one.” Well, thank you, ma’am, for your eloquence and hospitality. I’ll be sure to frame that advice.
One Bite Wonder: We each took a tentative bite of our dishes, hoping for redemption. Alas, it was like chewing on cardboard seasoned with disappointment. The dumplings—those little pockets of hope—were more akin to flattened packing material. I half-expected them to unfold into origami cranes and fly away in protest.
In summary, Wok 'n Hair is a place where culinary dreams go to die. If you’re seeking an authentic Chinese experience, I recommend you run in the opposite direction. Perhaps the neighboring dumpster has better flavor profiles. As for me, I left the restaurant with a newfound appreciation for home-cooked meals and a lingering taste of regret.
Rating (out of 5): ⭐ (and that’s being generous)
Remember, dear readers, life is too short for subpar dumplings and hair-infested noodles. May your future dining adventures be free of follicles and full of...
