This was my first time trying Amigo Papa after seeing an IG reel that hyped it up. I decided to treat myself to a birthday lunch and headed to the Miami Blvd location. I got there early and actually waited 45 minutes for them to openâonly for them to open late.
When I approached the counter, there was no greeting, no smileâjust cold energy. It was obvious there was a language barrier, but instead of trying to help, both women behind the counter ignored me when I asked for a menu. They continued talking to each other like I wasnât even there for an additional 10-12 minutes. After the wait, the attendant eventually came outside to prop up their large floppy menu sign, but it fell down again. She saw it fall, rolled her eyes, and just went back inside the food truck. As someone who had never ordered from there before, I was really relying on that sign to decide what to get. When I mentioned it to her at the window, she refused to come back out and fix itâso I had to prop it up myself. The whole situation felt so unprofessional. Honestly, I shouldâve taken that as my sign to leave and not spend my money there.
Again, even after all that waiting, I had to wait an additional 10â12 minutes before they were ready to even take my order. I came specifically for the birria corn, which they advertised on their IG page for this location. The woman told me they didnât have any birria of any kind today. I also asked about the pineapple agua frescaâalso unavailable. Mind you, three more groups of customers came after me asking for the birria tooâand they were just as disappointed to hear it wasnât being served and it was another coupleâs first time visiting also. I even saw a man who appeared to work for them unpacking his car with food items to deliver to their truck, and he confidently told me, âOh, they have everything.â That was completely misleading and clearly not the case.
I was literally the first person in line, and I still ended up waiting over 35 minutes for my foodâwith no crowd. On top of that, I was being stared at like I was a problem. It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I left feeling completely disappointed, especially since I had been genuinely excited to celebrate myself. The service was unpleasant, the vibe was off, and the reality did not match what they promote on social media. Sadly, I wonât be back. They seem to cater to influencers online, but donât show that same hospitality to...

I waited in line for 10 minutes, ordered a loaded potato with steak and a Jarrito which was 22 dollars. I had 40 in cash. They did not have change so I offered to just take 10 or 15 dollars as change. They did not have it so I said I can pay with my card. I got my card from my car and came back and waited for 20 minutes while about six people ordered. Mind you it's 100° outside. I finally got back up there to pay with my debit card and she handed me my $40 back and asked if the ticket was correct and I said "yes, that's correct, you're cooking it right?" (I was supposed to be the second person up now.) She said "no sorry." So I was there for 30 minutes at this point for no reason. And they were going to make me wait another 30 minutes while they cook six other people's orders before mine. It is hot as hell outside literally 100°. I didn't get to go sit in my car because I didn't get a beeper thing. I sweated and waited to pay because i assumed that they had put my ticket in the line in order. They literally had my cash in hand. To sum it up, because they don't have change I get to wait 50+ minutes for my food while everyone else only has to wait a total of about 30 minutes. I never leave reviews but that was terrible customer service. Absolutely obserd. I really wanted a mf baked potato plate:( If I ever try to go again I'LL BE PREPARED WITH MY DEBIT CARD IN HAND OR...
My family and I visited on Saturday 7/26 at 3:30pm and ordered three entrees for a total of $52; they were sold out of all beverages - including water. Since this was my second visit, I didnât hesitate to order the tacos because they were a hit the first time. However, on this visit the tacos were made with a less impressive âcheddarâ cheese that wasnât fully melted. My family ordered the chicken quesadillas that were also not fully heated throughout and also made with âcheddarâ. After a couple of bites my son and husband wanted to return the quesadillas and ask for a replacement of birrias but were told that they could not replace. Apparently, they had sold out of their regular ingredients and opted to substitute for whatever was convenient.
**If a food patron specializes in âbirriaâ, they should post a âsold outâsign once all the organic ingredients required to make the dish are no longer available. This will help preserve the integrity of the...
