IT'SUGAR Southpoint — Restaurant in Durham

I went here the other day with my partner to walk around before I took him off for his flight. I was 4 days post cancer surgery and wearing a sling as to not move and jostle my arm around. I kept my hands very close to myself and my body as I know walking around with a sling can make you look "suspicious". So I was very mindful to not touch anything, just point or comment. The entire time I was there, the lovely staff member who was there decided I needed to be stared down and hawk eyed the entire time, noticed by both myself and my boyfriend. We ended up just leaving without purchasing because miss cashier made us feel unwelcome to browse and decide what we wanted. The shop is very cute, well stocked, and decorated adorably. But that attitude and stare down was completely unnecessary. I went into plenty of other stores and while they did watch me intensely to begin with, I did the same thing (not touching, keeping my hands close to me) and they realized we were just shopping around. Today I visited this store with my friends. I wanted to try a free sample, but I didn't see an employee in the store. Even after a few minutes, no one came yet. So I said "excuse me" out loud so they could hear me. After a couple seconds the employee came out and I told him I didn't mean to sound rude, but cab I try a few sample. Everytime I would ask a question, he would cut me off rudely. So I told me friends who was with me about how the cashier was rude to me. And suddenly, the cashier approached us and asked us to leave. Even though we didn't do anything wrong. My friend told him she was going to buy a plush doll. And he told her she can buy it now. My friend told him she wasn't finished looking at the shelf. Arrived early so we walked around the mall for a bit. Came to the store just after posted opening time, still closed. Waited 10 minutes and the employee finally arrived. It is 35 degrees outside and a strong wind, all she could say was "it will be 10 minutes." No apology, no step inside and warm up, nothing cordial.
