Decided to go here for breakfast today and there was about a 20 minute wait time, when it was time to be seated, I was thrown back when the hostess said to us and another party " you can go to table 1 and table 2 on the left", all while pointing to the area, without actually taking us to the table. As I watched this seems to be the normal practice in this establishment which surprised me since it's not a seat yourself restaurant. In my opinion, it takes away completely the customer service that is expected from a hostess. The other thing that I noticed was the same hostess was wearing a mask which I absolutely have no problem with but it was worn under her nose and mouth so what exactly was the point of wearing it in the first place as she never pulled it up while we were there. Kinda defeats the purpose of wearing one. On to the food itself, my husband ordered the "Works " omelet which he really enjoyed, however I ordered 1 pancake, side of grits and bacon. I was disappointed in the pancakes as they were cold where the butter didn't even melt not to mention the amount of butter that was on top of the pancake and grits. Maybe it was just a off day for us.

So, went to Brigs as it shows up on many top list of places to eat in RTP. This had a classic Mom and Pops feeling to it even down to our waitress who didn't need to write our order down. I like that. The menu had a good amount on it (scan QR code menu). We stuck to the unusual classic eggs and toast for me and french toast for my wife. The food looks delicious upon arrival, and rather quickly prepared, no complaints there. The waitress gave us plenty of space but still took good care of us if that makes sense. No awkward interruptions while eating. Nothing that stood out about the food taste, but nevertheless it was still good, the loaded home fries were delightful as I have never had that before in that form. Due to the strawberries the french toast did get a little soggy quick but she still enjoyed them. The check out process however . . . We had to wait in line as the sitting process is connected to the check out line. The wait set us back about 10 minutes when we were ready to depart. Overall not a bad experience love the mom and pop feel with good food, just need a little work on the payment part.

I went here on 2/9 for Sunday brunch. Now that was a mistake. Following is the timeline of my time spent here: 11.02 AM - The steward put my name down for a table and told me the wait time was 20 mins. 11.32 AM - We're finally ushered to our table. 11.43 AM - The Server comes and takes our order. 11.57 AM - Our food is finally served. Overall time from the moment we requested a table till the food went in my stomach: 55mins. During this time I could have gone to the grocery, bought the ingredients, come home and cooked a Salisbury Steak in Mushroom gravy. Now imagine coming here already hungry like you would be if you were going for brunch. Yeah...See the picture of the waiting area. Food was average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't something to write home about, it certainly wasn't something I would go back there and suffer the waiting time for. Also, I got the Jambalaya and the portion was smaller than I was used to. Suffice to say I will not be returning to this place.

I had an obnoxiously long shift yesterday...working third shift can be quite an experience, and I had a new patient who had my nerves a bit shell shocked by my time of departure! What better way to end a hard day then with good food right? And what better way to enjoy the full meaning of good food than with Brigs? Yummy 😋 So on to Brigs we go 🙂...now things are off to a pretty awesome start! We were intimidated initially because there were a lot of people waiting to be seated but we frequent this location at least twice a month so we aren’t new to the lines...especially on a Sunday! To our surprise we get the buzzer and it might’ve been 6 minutes before we began to buzz!!! Oh yeah let’s goooooo! So we are seated and look 👀 over the menu but we already know what we want lol 😂...we place our orders and then the waitress asks if either of us is a veteran...I’d been so distraught from my shift, I forgot all about the date! It was indeed Veterans Day! Too bad my military ID is at home in my laptop bag from my shift 🤦🏽‍♀️. I ask if it’s possible to use my social media profile? (not too sure if it’ll work but the surprise of being able to enjoy the discount was worth the shot!) My waitress smiles and says she’ll get the owner and let him make the final decision. It’s a win-win for me because I had no idea what today even was smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ so I had intentions of paying so either way I was “gambling with house money” at this point. He comes over to the table and unfortunately I left my phone too so I used my friends phone to logon. He looks at the pictures and says he will honor the discount and I was excited and grateful because that was very nice of him to do! Well the excitement was very short lived! I received quite the scolding for coming into HIS establishment without having “proper identification” and was accused of playing “dress up” on Halloween 🎃...he repeatedly apologized but followed each apology with another sarcastic, condescending comment. He made sure to point out that HE ran the Durham franchise and he will honor it this time but keep in mind that HE had the right to tell me no! The extra commentary lasted for about ten minutes and that’s no exaggeration. By the time he walked away from the table, our food was on its way out of the kitchen. I was so offended by his comments that eating was no longer a priority or a concern. As a veteran being accused of wearing that uniform as a Halloween costume is highly offensive! I felt the need to call him back over to the table to clearly voice my concerns. Even after I told him that a simple yes or no would’ve sufficed and I would have completely understood him saying no(especially since I didn’t have my ID), but the scolding at the table, loud enough so everyone in earshot could listen in on the conversation was unbecoming. The sad thing is since our first joint brunch for my birthday back in March we frequented this spot at least twice a month faithfully. We drop in, have breakfast, and go about our day! Before today I wouldn’t dare part my lips to say anything bad about this place! But after today, I’ll exhaust the extra gas to go to a different location. The owner is rude and tasteless when it comes to customer service! I was treated like a six year old child when in fact could have been dignified with a “no” instead. No harm no foul. Very disappointed 😔! Great way to start off a day of dedication!!! Great way to show patriotism! #tactovertacky #morebeeswithsugarthanvinegar...

Pre-Covid we would be waiting like a herd of cattle in their uncomfy, petite waiting area. So imagine my pleasure & surprise with the visual signage on the outside entrance door, advising to please stand to the left for dine-in. I initially did this as requested, the 2nd time, I was advised it was unnecessary if there were not any customers in the waiting area. It was perfectly okay to come on in. So on the 3rd time, October 1, 2020 around 7am, noone in the waiting area, nor any patrons in the establishment, we walk in. The usual hostess greets us, grabs menus, plastic ware and shows us to our table amongst the empty establishment. Once there she starts chastising my sister and I about the posted signage. I explain to her what I was told previously regarding if the "holding area" was empty, to come on in. She was like I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to figure out what more can be done. I told her, start with consistency amongst she and her team as I've always disliked being bombarded with folk in waiting areas standing all over each other. And again reiterated what I was previously advised by her counterpart. She continued with sarcastic, condescending comments. She made sure to point out that their limited capacity is presently 48 individuals. I replied, that's totally fine, we definitely appreciate the extra efforts during these unprecedented times of uncertainties. In turn, the extra commentary lasted for about five minutes or so. This location has always lacked the customer experience I am accustomed to. Unfortunately, it's in proximity of easy access from/to the RDU Airport. I've always had amazingly awesome customer service from the Cary locations. The customer service at the Durham location has always been mediocre and now the food is starting to unfortunately decline as well. I will close with the fact, when we left around 7:55am, there still were not any other patrons in this...

Let me start off by saying that my family and I have been loyal customers for years now. Actually my husband would have company brunches at this location. You only get the one star for being open during a pandemic. The pick up service has steadily declined. I am allergic to pineapple which I emphasized on my call in order and still thankfully I found the pineapple in my fruit before I ate it. The new woman that is taking the pickup order calls is terrible. I had to repeat each order Atleast 3 times. Therefore I could only eat part of my meal. I have received a gift card and an apology from the manager previously but that’s not enough. IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE!!! You apologize but what has been implemented to fix it?!?! We as customers take that risk to still give our business right now but if you can’t be trusted to properly take an order I CRINGE AT what the sanitation looks like. I used to eat here every day but now possibly once every couple of weeks. Every time is a disappointment. I am a diabetic and I always ask how long before the pick up and they have quoted me 15/20 mins multiple times and multiple times including today I have been outside with my blinkers on and even called the store for over 45 mins. I didn’t choose to give a tip today because of the awful service and the associate, black female with glasses never thanked me and chose to have an awful attitude. Mind you I am a black female so there is not discrimination involved. LETS BE CLEAR! IF I decide to eat from here again I will definitely expect 15 mins as an hour for the wait and expect terrible customer service via curbside pickup which is so important nowadays considering COVID-19. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed. I chose to make this post after REPEATED accounts of...
