Salad: A bowl of iceberg lettuce with 1 slice of tomato (my hubby gave me his so I had 2 slices🤣) & 1 slice of onion (ranch dressing was good, but blue cheese dressing tasted like mayo). Hushpuppies: Never brought to our table. 12oz Ribeye: Was well done (ordered medium) & tasted like a low quality sirloin steak. Baked potatoes: Very small compared to any other seafood restaurant we've been to. Crab legs: Were good (it's hard to make crab legs taste terrible... Lol), but were prepared/served poorly. $39.99 for crab legs deserve, at least, decent quality butter, good seasoning, & a towlette/wet nap (or at least plenty of napkins). Service: Mediocre, at best. We were greeted with a blank stare when walked in the door, seated without a word (the guy motioned to us to follow him), and waited 10 minutes before a server asked what we wanted to drink. Silverware had dried food on it & had to be replaced. Interior: Outdated and needs a deep cleaning in a bad way. The only great things about our meal was a cold beer (bottle) & the cheese sticks we ordered as an appetizer ---> for an $80 meal. LOL. This was the 1st time we've eaten here, & definitely won't be back. I'd recommend only if having a massive craving for crab legs and no other seafood restaurants are open. I would not recommend getting a steak here unless wanting to turn vegan & needing that final push. If you do stop here for the first time, go into it with very low expectations. Oh, and, be sure to use the restroom at a gas station down the street before stopping here. The restroom here was repulsive.

We haven't been here in many, many years, so I read through some reviews, and we decided to give it a shot for lunch on Saturday. We were pleasantly surprised in all respects! The service was excellent! Very friendly waiter who was very attentive and made sure our drinks were filled and got anything else we might need. The food was delicious! Everything was lightly fried to perfection. My spouse had fried scallops that she said were perfect with fries. I had the white fish and clam strips with a baked potato. The fish was so flakey, and so many of the clam strips were much bigger than I've seen in years, plus no rubbery texture. Both entrees came with slaw. We both had leftovers. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with a nautical theme throughout, including an actual boat serving as the desk where you pay when leaving. We were thrilled to find the Mayflower serving up such great seafood and plan on returning sooner rather than later. Honestly, I'm surprised there wasn't a line out the door!

The food was great. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were filling. My boyfriend and I both carried home what we couldnt finish. The staff there was extremely pleasant and our waiter was very attentive. She came back and checked on us and refilled our drinks without us having to ask. I was nervous about go in because I was afraid the prices would be high and I would leave still hungry but that was not the case at all. The location is easily accessible and there is decent parking. The establishment was clean and it didnt take long for our food to come out. It came out hot and fresh and there was nothing about my meal that I would complain about. Most of the reviews on this restaurant were good and its great to not have been disappointed. I will eat here again and try the crab legs next time.... Now those are a little pricey but that's everywhere you go!

Good taste good. Gives you a great amount if you eat in. The wait is long for service when dining due to short staff. So I give it 2 stars. Now I’ve been getting cheese fries here since I moved to Durham which would be 2 years. They know my name. Before today I have only complained once about my food. Today I ordered my normal which is cheese fries light bacon but bacon well done. When they first brought out my food it was a little burnt on a few fries nothing too extreme but barely any bacon. Now I say light bacon because otherwise, you receive bacon fries limited cheese, and a few fries. Don’t want that. Today when I went in there the tall Asian guy told me the bacon changed it was now a “tiny smoked bacon” ok that’s fine I’VE ALREADY HAD IT BEFORE COOKED CORRECT!!!! Now today I go I show him it’s like 3 sprinkles of bacon on a whole plate of fries. He says “so what do you want me to do,” I told him “make it the same way as usual you know I’m always in here” he replies “let me see” takes the food to the kitchen they add more bacon. When I open the container it’s full of bacon but the bacon has huge fat pieces & is pink. I tell the tall Asian just nvm give me my money back. As he is getting my money together the guy from the back who I have witnessed being rude to another customer comes up there saying “what’s the problem now what does she want” I say “excuse me are you referring to me?” He then says “YEA CAUSE YOU ALWAYS COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR BACON.” To me!! Now I’ve paid and was unhappy. What’s the problem? I ask the tall guy for the other man’s name he says “it’s not my job to give names I’m not doing it you can wait until he gets here” 🤨 I ask him “what he just did was rude & disrespectful and how would you like it if someone did that to you? Do you think that’s acceptable?” Santiago comes back up there & says ok we know your ticket but you always complain which the tall guy who ALWAYS takes my order says no she doesn’t. I told Santiago or whatever his name is he’s the fat Mexican with love handles & a big nose 🤷🏽‍♀️ Only way to describe him. That what he did was rude & unprofessional he shrugs his shoulders. It’s a lot more but this review is getting long just BLACK PPL STAY AWAY. They do typical racist stuff when you are not happy! If you want Mayflower to visit the Raleigh location.

Also if the restaurant decides to comment that any of this is not true I HAVE THE WHOLE...

ATTEMPTED TO REFUSE ME SERVICE FROM BUYING!!!!! A CUP OF ICE FOR A CHILD WHO BURNT THEMSELVES. stopped in to get Ice for a child who just burnt themselves. I ran in frantically and ask for a cup of ice. The lady did not even respond at first. After asking again she said 25 cents. I responded with are you kidding me it's for a kid then ran out and and grab 25 cents. After putting my money on the counter i ask may I please have the ice now. The lady did not move so I ask for the manager. The employee that was the "manager" even though the uniforms were exactly alike. The "manager" refused to give me the cup of ice. After taking a few steps out of the door I walked back in and commented that there are no posted signs allowing them the right of refusal. During this exchange multiple other customers noticed including a couple who had been regulars there saying they wouldn't be back since this is how they treat people, and several others telling them to give them ice and asking if they could assist the injured child. After being hounded by other customers and myself another employee finnaly told the "manager" to get ice. 10 minutes, a headache, and one less place to eat locally later I finally walked away with my 25 cent cup of ice and and a mission to inform other citizens of the type of people who profit from this restaurant. I hope other people have the same belief that being good human beings and a contributing to the community is also part of being in business not just money hungry strategies...
