So this is next to Chuck E Cheeses and I think they just opened up. Save your money at Chuck E Cheeses and come support this local restaurant that makes such great chicken!!! Their Maduro (roasted sweet plantain) is always an item I get Everytime I come here. They have two sauces, a spicy green one and a yellow mayonnaisee tasting one that are both really great.
I suggest if you're test driving a car from the nearby dealerships, come by here after a long day of dealing with the finance folks. Their chicken and plantains just makes you forget everything bad in the world. It's also rotisserie style so your and family physician will love your cholesterol levels!
Also, think about this. Harris Teeter rotisserie chicken is about 8 bucks right? A whole rotisserie chicken here costs about $22 with two large sides. One, the Harris teeter rotisserie chicken tastes like a long overdue Managers Special chicken. Two, take the Alpaca whole chicken and put it in the oven and pretend you baked it. Your family will love your "cooking skills." The difference in quality is as big as this...
Read moreI am a regular customer of Alpaca for its fast service and Peruvian flavor chicken. So my observations here are based on several visits, which are showing me patterns that don’t speak well of the restaurant policies or customer care. Size of chicken is small and the 1/4 chicken is not complete in many cases. They probably cut portions of chicken for their other dishes. Also, portions of sides is super controlled, as one can see the servers counting the number of plantains or yucas, and measuring in a small scoop the rice or beans. If you don’t buy a drink the cashier does not offer a glass of water or offers dressings for salads, and they will even not give you a tray for placing your stuff if you buy a single dish. Honestly, it feels they want to save every penny instead of focusing on customer satisfaction. I’ve been a regular customer but my husband and I are questioning if we should return because an ok flavor does not compensate small portions and...
Read moreAlpaca chicken is the best, but the green beans have gone down the drain and are definitely NOT the same as when the restaurant establishment first opened. Given that I can make rice at home and the fact that my own green beans are much better/tastier, I’ll just be ordering chicken alone from now on. The biggest turn off today was an employee at the chicken cutting station where, although he was wearing gloves, he wiped his nose three times while still prepping food. This is absolutely disgusting and a huge NO when handling food… especially with gloves on. What was this employee thinking?? I can’t imagine that he was trained this way, but whatever he learned went out the window. I spoke with a manger to let her I know what I observed and expressed how unsanitary this was. I wonder how many employees do this when no one is looking, or when they think no one is...
